Slayte
Is there a problem with ShakesPeer and Hackintoshes generally? Everytime I try and connect to a hub, any hub, I get the following error message: Failed to lookup '<the hub's adress>': request timed out I've tried both active and passive, and the port I'm using with active checks out, additionally I tried manually putting in my ip in the box in settings, but nothing has worked... Anyone experienced anything like this? Anybody know what to do? If not, thanks for reading at least mate.

ShakesPeer is not "a bit dumb". JaS did the "impossible" when he hacked OSX to run on non-Apple hardware, it was an amazing feat. But not everything can go according to plans. He also accidentally broke the DNS file that certain applications use. ShakesPeer is one of them, as are all the useful network Terminal applications like nslookup and dig. They all rely on a certain file which he messed up, but the file can be restored to the way it would be on a legit Mac. You will find my solution here, it's really easy to perform. Taartstaart
Hi everyone, Sorry for the bump, but I'm having the same problem: I'm a new ShakeSpeer user: everything was working fine the first couple of times, but now I always get the message "request timed out" at the bottom, when I want to connect to a hub. I read different solutions on the internet (including the one above) already, but nothing is working so far. Does anyone have another approach? Please, help! I really want ShakeSpeer running again! Greetings, Sara
