Takuro
Hi. I've just installed the final release of Adobe Photoshop CS3 extended. I moved all the adobe programs into a folder called "Adobe CS3" in my Applications folder, and now Photoshop keeps complaining that its been moved. Here's what it says: "This application has been moved from the location in which it was originally installed. Some settings need to be repaired." (And there's a button below the message that says "Repair Now.") I clicked "Repair Now," but this nag keeps coming up whenever I launch Photoshop. Any ideas? Maybe I have to manually change the settings file, but I have no idea what "settings" refers to.
Takuro
Hm. Could anybody at least tell me if they run into this problem too then they move an Adobe CS3 application to a different folder and launch it? A simple "no" would be enough. I just want to make sure I'm not going crazy.

vhektor
Ok, i'm having this same problem with my Dreamweaver CS3 on a MBP C2D, all of the other apps open up fine. I did NOT move any of my apps to a new folder...this just started happening today randomly. It's pretty irritiating because I have to click repair everytime I launch the application, and it doesn't make sense because I didn't move anything. Any ideas? Takuro
I'm going to file this as a bug to Adobe. Nobody on their forums brought it up yet, surprisingly enough. I thought it was a permissions error, but even repairing while logged in as root didn't work.
domino
It's not a bug Takuro. It happened to me also and I'm almost certain that the issue lies with where it was first installed. You can fix it by hunting down the config files or re-install the suite. Every time you try to repair, the next time you execute the app, it's give you the same message. You will need to uninstall from the uninstall script in the Utilities --> adobe folder, restart, and re-install the suite. Anyway you have an option to install the app in whichever folder when you install them. \cheers.
mychemicalromance
Hi, just installed After Effects CS3 today and i'm having the same problem. "This application has been moved from the location in which it was originally installed. Some settings need to be repaired." It doesn't seem to effect the program but like you say it is annoying having to go through this everyday.
3nigma
Nobody here is an authentic Mac user, eh? Try using the Disk Utility, In the Applications > Utilities folder. Then select "Repair Permissions." See if it works, let me know. -3nigma
KenM
I also had the problem. It appears that you cannot move either the application nor the folder in which it resides. You also cannot change the name of either. I have an open case with Adobe about serializing Photoshop which I have solved and I will mention this when I call them. didack
Hi everybody, I also had the same problem with after effects CS3, and i didn´t change anything during and after the installation. I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the application, and what 3ENIGMA forward (disk utilities/repair permissions disk), but didn´t work. Any idea? v7err
Headline: I fixed this prob ... hope following works for you: Same problem as everyone else - need to 'tidy' my Apps folder led to annoying startup. Finally about to reinstall BUT figured fix: go to HD:Library:Logs:Adobe:Installers:Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium 1.0.log.gz and copy to desktop (this folder is RO anyway) Unarchive 'Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium 1.0.log.gz' and open 'Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium 1.0.log' (on my Mac it opens in Console) Read the original install location for each App - if necessary, recreate the folder structure, of course using the exact names. You can delete files on DT now. Worked for me. I had originally set the install location as HD:Applications:myApps:myAdobeApps , but later wanted to keep some CS1 and CS2 versions (yes, you can!) so I made new folders for each release, CS1, CS2, CS3 and moved corresponding Apps. That's when I got the problem. Until now I couldn't remember exactly where I had originally installed CS3, but 'Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium 1.0.log' could! Won't even try to 'fix' anything so I can move them post-install, just remember to choose well in future! Hope it helps somebody v7
