dogbert75
Just to let all know... semthex posted on hackint0sh that he is going to be retiring from the scene. He basically says there are no more challenges for him when it comes to the kernel. Not so sure about the rules of copying posts, so if you want to read more, then go find it if you want. Lostgame
Although I wasn't a fan of OSx86, this is truly a detriment to the community.

track09
Hackintosh isn't something that looks permanent anyway... As much as the project is awesome, and inspired many, each release caused more problems to hack, and more hardware got shut out.

asap18
Generously, he left the sources to "good" people so i have no doubt people of the osx86 community will be able to continue this project.
mifki
Im not a good person remember . Im a bad bear, a very bad bear. But dont worry, once i get sse3 emulation final, i'll release the sources, do it the way it should have been done in the first place, none of this source hoarding to keep users hooked on
Embio
I'll bet he's going underground now the license has changed for the 10.4.9 sources  just kidding, nice work man - good luck.
Mebster
Semthex has done a lot and I appreciate that but all you drama queens who are acting like this is the end of the world (or at least OSx86) need to wake up. We're replaceable, every single one of us. That's just a simple fact. And someone will rise to continue semthex's great work. It's all just a matter of time. Â So please stop exaturating. We've seen enough drama on the OSx86 scene than what's humanly possible to take and it needs to end sometime. I hope this will be it. Â Â PS: Kiko, damn you just keep rolling with them. cmesky
Whenever a big old tree falls in the forest, there is room for new growth. Kiko? Â You underestimate what it takes to get real hackers interested in a community as immature and insane (pun intended) as OSx86. Semthex was a very rare breed, amazingly with enough patience to last around half a year before being forced out.
superkona
sorry to see you go, i give a damn about politics. i just admire good code. what semthex kernel's would be considered 'the best' ?
mifki
cmesky, if you actually knew more about this whole project, i was here before semthex, and i was making a 10.4.7 kernel when he first showed up, so im not a new tree, i think im more of a weed, something people dont like, but cant get rid off , and "damn me" aceplayer, i dont understand 0.o

Examples, please.
mifki
10.4.7 kernel - partially hacked, then stopped and followed semthex, go to hackint0sh and read page 19 on the .5 and .6 kernel dev thread (the 70 pages long one) or something, proof is there. A couple of programs for windows hacked to stop registration (they werent {censored} cheap ass shareware, they were commercial products), i had a bin patched .5 kernel at one stage but it was unstable, some mac download managers / other trivial programs. And if the patches are there, why not use them , semthex did that, maxxuss had made all the amd and vmware patches, and the sse3 emul (only 3 instructions) then rufus and semthex added the other instructions to that, and put maxxuss's patches into source code. If you dont like it / believe me, bad luck, by the look of your join date i.e: today, i can already smell something fishy.
