Thinking of buying Acer laptop...

Howdy, I was planning on purchasing this laptop: Acer 5100-3357

The price seems right however I'm not sure if anyone has experience from Acer or this particular laptop. Do you think it is worth the money? I want it for watching movies, playing music, do school work, and (maybe) play World of Warcraft on it. The graphics chip seems OKAY but I'm not familiar with the Radeon series.

I have an iMac for the heavy-duty stuff, but I want to use this for traveling. Would anyone reccomend this laptop?

Its Radeon integrated graphics, not a dedicated chip, so you won't get QE/CI. If you really want to run Mac on your laptop, I would recommend you look for one with GMA950 graphics. Here is one I bought recently for $399 after $50 rebate:

There is a whole thread about it somewhere on this forum. Do a search for my handle and you should find it.

Welp, about 3 days ago, I bought the Acer Laptop from Circuit City and I love it!

As for the other laptop, the specs were not really comparable to the one that I purchased. The real deal breaker on this laptop was that it included Windows Vista Home Premium, usually at the price I paid for it you only get Windows Vista Home Basic.

As for the graphics chip, it works better than I expected. It runs World of Warcraft, which is a plus :P. As for working with Aero on Windows Vista, I have to say that I am impressed (coming from integrated graphics). Overall, the deal was 1 in 1000 weighing in the price and what you got.

As for Mac OS X on it, I might do so if I can get the necessary drivers to install on it. Thanks for the suggestion though, I really appreciate it.
