flexer
Hi all, anyone can confirm that driver development for xpress 200m driver is definitively stopped? It's a sin because that card work very good with Aero effect under windows and with compiz fusion under linux and I dont thing that OSx require more power than others
KOERONE
This sh*t just cannot work I guess... It's a pity'cause I bought an Asus f5rl with this inside. Well, not a big deal. The G4 is not expensive so i guess I'll change the platform simply... F*ck Intel... Anyways the mac osx worked on this piece of Asus garbage, maybe it is not a full throttle but photoshop works more stable on this than on winxp. Does anyone know any way to make this sh*t work on at least 1280-800?
tepaks
As far as I know only working kext for this card is Calisto 003, 1280x800x32 but w/o CI or QE, only QGL if anyone got this card working with CI and/or QE please post your solution. On my Acer Aspire 5100 I've got almost everything working except Webcam, SD card reader and Graphics (partially,) Host bridge [0600]: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 Host Bridge [1002:5950] (rev 10) PCI bridge [0604]: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 PCI Bridge [1002:5a3f] PCI bridge [0604]: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 PCI Bridge [1002:5a36] PCI bridge [0604]: ATI Technologies Inc RS480 PCI Bridge [1002:5a37] IDE interface [0101]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 Serial ATA Controller [1002:4379] (rev 80) USB Controller [0c03]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB Host Controller [1002:4374] (rev 80) USB Controller [0c03]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB Host Controller [1002:4375] (rev 80) USB Controller [0c03]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 USB2 Host Controller [1002:4373] (rev 80) SMBus [0c05]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 SMBus Controller [1002:4372] (rev 83) IDE interface [0101]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 IDE Controller [1002:4376] (rev 80) Audio device [0403]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB4x0 High Definition Audio Controller [1002:437b] (rev 01) ISA bridge [0601]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 PCI-ISA Bridge [1002:4377] (rev 80) PCI bridge [0604]: ATI Technologies Inc IXP SB400 PCI-PCI Bridge [1002:4371] (rev 80) VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc RS482 [Radeon Xpress 200M] [1002:5975] Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. ryanrossiter
ROFL! This thread is just a joke at this point. It has been almost three years (since 10.4.3 was released!) that myself and several other people tried to get QE/CI working on this chipset. Eventually I gave up when I got a G950 based lappy but others continued their struggle. The bottom line is by the time anyone (if they are even still working on it) gets this chipset to work we will probably be well on our way to 10.8 and any laptop running an x200 will probably be the equivalent of a P-III today. I hate to be a downer, but someone needs to inject a bit of realism here since people keep asking when is it going to work..... erm some laptops with this chipset have intel core 2 duo so this project is sill important
KOERONE
For example my Asus F5RL based on Intel core2duo with 2 gigs of ram is equipped with this worthless gpu... I used to look for those drivers but I've lost any hope, this gpu is just sh*t. I've bought a low-end overclocked mac instead.
Presko
Im going to be quite happy to help somehow for the dev of this driver , probably some other inegrated video card as the same memory managment , or there is some other way to get it working after all its using the ram so there is a small chance to be made a customfirmware to be forced to use another model behaivior ? Dont know but those are only ideas
BuXb
A firmware does NOT change the hardware, which is why a fw mod will not help here ....
Misko78
Hello everyone, I'm a total noob for OS X and i would like to install Tiger to my old Toshiba laptop which has Radeon 200M. Can some one point me out to some instructions as i only found that it works under Tiger. Thanks. And sorry for resurrecting an old thread after two years.
