Well, to be honest, its MUCH faster/more complete (dvd player and java works sweet) than 10.4.1 too, so thats another reason to move up to 10.4.3.

I did an upgrade to 10.4.3 and it went just fine...you'll retain all your apps and settings, and get all the benefit of 10.4.3.

What I'm describing is installing the patched 10.4.3 build f1099 and iTunes from not yet patched build f1111...just for clarity.

paulicat - is there a reason to install f1099 and itunes from f1111? instead of just installing f1111? I was reading a couple posts a day or two ago that stated that the maxxus patch for f1099 works for f1111. I may be wrong. Can anyone tell us if the maxxus patch works on f1111? I am currently downloading both builds and if the patch works on f1111 i plan on installing it.

ok, now I'm slightly confused..you said you did an upgrade and retained settings then mention installing 10.4.3.

Do you mean you upgraded your existing 10.4.1(dunno if that is possible) to the 1099 or did you start clean from 1099, I didnt think 1099 would work on my machine, but looks like with the latest patches I might be able to, then there's also what Habitual said about the patches being universal, can you or anyone else confirm this, I think I also read it..but it seems I am havin trouble finding it again.

thanks

Just a note, I was able to get ahold of the universal and was able to install it on 10.4.1, it installed fine, and it says Intel/PPC, but I had to checkmark the rosetta box in order for it to run..kinda defeats the purpose, suppose I will have to move to 10.4.3 or see if I can replace it with the old one again, which I forgot to back up, not smart on my part.

Sorry I should have been more clear, it wont run as Intel binary (which as you said is the purpose of it) on 10.4.1

If you have the right hardware, a cpu with NX bit is the biggest problem right now (no nx = no native 1099), you can have a 10.4.1 install updated with the 10.4.3 patch from a while back, and do an upgrade installation with the 1099 dvd with patched oah from maxxuss.

This way you will have full 10.4.3 and all your setting/programs.

Works on 10.4.1 (I have the 10.4.3 patch, though).

The only catch is that it's hard to load. It has a tendancy to load, eat up 80% of your processor for a while, stop responding and close. You have to keep opening it until it eventually connects. :D

works without 10.4.3 patch too egg :D

here the only thing i have installed is the just maxxuss 10.4.2>10.4.1 patch (to run 10.4.2 intel apps on 10.4.1), maybe because this it works here

With Maxxuss latest kernel for no nx (mach_kernel.test from 11/24) I can finally run 10.4.3 native on my non-nx p4 530.....the pae issue was resolved for some of us with a pae capable cpu but no nx. Cool.

yeah it's cool...cept that there's no wifi :'(

On a side note: I tried out this app guys, and it doesn't work for me. I get the same "You must reboot" message everytime I try and load the app without Rosetta.

I have 10.4.1 tot 10.4.3 patch updated installed on this PC, which may be the problem, though I doubt it.

to those of you that have it working, would you be able to tell me whether your dashboard apps interfacing with it still work?
