bballs91
At random times iTunes will just stop outputting anything. It seems to be completely random. To fix it I just need to open iTunes and quit out of it a bunch of times then it will regain audio output. This is hopefully only a temporary fix as it is very annoying EDIT: After some more testing it seems to happen most often when two or more applications are trying to output at the same time, for example: iTunes, Quicktime, and an audio file in firefox/safari. Guest Snowski
Same here with ALC850 Mine is due to midi/audio config panel setting channels to 6 instead of keeping 2. Check if you dont have the same issue. You can manualy set it back to 2 channels. Now try it with Garageband and you'll have to battle it out (lol it keeps resetting to 6ch after you tweak it) Good luck!

Afer manually switching to 2, I get sound but I can't adjust the volume. Have you figured anything out about this? Maybe editing a kext file to disable that output from changing at all?
