erbic Posted March 28, 2007 Share Posted March 28, 2007 It means your disk is too fragmented to partition. Believe me, that DOES actually happen. You've got two options: 1. Buy iDefrag or a similar utility and defragment the drive. 2. Use Disk Utility to back up your hard drive to a big DMG on an external volume. Once that's done, boot from the install DVD and open Disk Utility. Format your primary HDD as HFS+, and then restore the image to your HDD without erasing again. So just deselect the "erase destination" checkbox when you're restoring the image. Personally, I'd go for option 1. I've had to do option 2 before, and it's a pain in the ASS. It takes several hours to create the image, and several more hours to restore it to the HDD. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
