The other way around...

i think everyone is looking at this the wrong way. instead of trying to get the apple TV OS running on a mac, why not try to get OS X (the full version, that is) running on an apple TV? it makes a lot more sense- it would be the first truly cheap apple computer. it already has most of the essentials: harddrive, intel processor, etc. since it already runs a stripped down version of OS X (with the same frameworks, etc.), why not try the full version? it even has a USB port that apple says is (allegedly) only for diagnostics use, but seriously, how hard could it be to hook up a keyboard and mouse?

i dont have one to try with, but id be willing to bet someone out there can figure it out.

EDIT: actually, i just saw the other topic about this. my bad.

Yes!Agree 100%!

Change the ways here goes:now we use hardware not supported from Apple with apps made in cuppertino; after we try to use hardware made by cuppertino with soft not supported from cuppertino...

mission accomplished: check out www.engadget.com someone installed OS X on an apple tv, working with usb keyboard and mouse. even published a tutorial, and it doesnt look hard at all.

I bought an AppleTV that I wasnt sure if i wanted or not. Its been sitting in the box it shipped in for over a week. I might take it out of the box tomorrow as this is the mod I've been most interested in.
