Hi, Zapro, I'm a G5 Hackintosh user. However, the G5 case Front IO panel made me crazy since the first day I mod it. :thumbsup_anim:

What I can use for now is only the power btn.

may I know where did you buy your new Macpro Case? :wallbash:

and do u hv any idea about the "older case" for G5's IO panel ? :)

Hello Powerjo!

I bought the case trough a good friend that works at a repair shop, they don't sell cases for any customers, they just repair them, so i'm afraid i can't help you there.

I don't know anything about the G5 case, nor it's frontpanel.

From pictures i have seen it sure looks un-complicated, i can't see why people have so much problem with it. it looks to be very simple. if you send me som hi-res pictures of the board's two sides, i maybe can have a look at it for you ;-)

email me at commodore_66@ERASEhotmail.com

Regards, Per.

Site updated. i have done the last wiring and replaced the PSU with a brand new Tagan added IEC-powerplug, and replaced the Graphics card with the XFX GF7300GT Dual DVI.

Take a look!

What is the main purpose of this machine ? You have a very decent setup there but the graphics is one of the weaker models so I'm guessing audio or video editing. Somehow I also get the feeling that you have a 8800 GTX or GTS waiting for Osx86 support.

Hi!

The purpose of this machine is to ditch windows as much as possible. I'm tired of that {censored} Winblows-OS :)

I like to casemod too, and that clean looking Mac Pro case is just in my taste, so i built it.

I primarely use it to Edit video and Sound. I have a Wii and an Xbox (1) to do the gaming on.

I wanted a good working Graphics card, and fanless, so i bought this card that was confirmed working.

PSU: 145

WoW its so cool!

What OSX version did you use? JaS or smth else?

This is an original G5 Tower?

How much points is the result of XBench?

Unisex

Hi Unisex. saw your message on my Blog.

It's running JaS 10.4.8 with the .9 Combo Update.

No it's not a G5 case, but an all original, brand new Mac Pro case i have molested;-)

My harddrive is pretty slow, so xbench without the hard disk test gives me 212 Points (I guess this is OK)? and with the disk test it is 127.

A thorough test with Power Fractal tells me it has a compute-power of 5071 Megaflops.

Its very cool :P

Maybe i want to buy the Hardware.

Is the machine working nice and with a lot of speed?

How fast starts Photoshop or Ableton Live if you have any of the programs? :D

greetings

Thanks :D

The Machine is working 100% Nice and is very fast.

Photoshop CS3 Extended starts in about fifteen seconds and is very snappy.

I don't have Ableton Live, so can't test.

Apart from the {censored}/half-working onboard sound, this is the system to go with, if I should advice you.
