qennster
I have been reading the forums and checking out install guides (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Vmware_how_to) but am confused if you will need OSX86 compatible hardware to run OS86 as a virtual machine (Parallels or VMware). Could somebody please tell me or point me to a place to clear this up. Thanks qenn
cbmkgd
You'll still need at least compatible CPU (minimum sse2, if the dvd has appropriate packages). Don't expect much for video and audio, since there's no vmtools for osx. The [HowTo] From VMWare To Native! thread has more tips that can be used, as well as numerous comments/solutions when you read along.
macgirl
Yeah, VMware does not emulate certain hardware, most importat the CPU, but emulates other like the Hard Disk Controller, USB, Sound, Network, Graphic Card, as some other as passed differently like the mouse and KB as PS2 no matter what you have. So for some VMware is a solution to bypass certain requirements.
