A Question About VMWare

yes and no...

if you do a vmware to native install you can boot right into when you turn your laptop on.

if you do a vmware install you will have to be in windows to run OS.

I would recommend that you do the vmware to native... it is just as simple as doing the vmware install.

I'm not exactly sure on how to do that. Can you maybe walk me through it??

Start by creating a new VM. Select Custom method.

Then when asked to create a harddisk, select physical disk option.

Choose your physical harddisk (numbered from zero, double check using Disk Management in Windows so you don't use the wrong drive).

WARNING: DO NOT USE YOUR HOST OS HARDDISK DRIVE! Buy a new one and use this instead.

Mac OS X does not work on SATA drives, so use PATA only.

Now you can install Mac OS X (Hackintosh) on this physical disk inside VMWare and preferably read from an .iso image so the installation takes much shorter time. Then when it reboots, you halt the VM and reboot your host machine. Press F8 or equivalent key to enter the BIOS Boot drive menu. Choose your Mac OS X physical disk.

If your BIOS does not support a Boot drive menu feature, then you need to change the master/slave assignments. But most modern motherboards support this so If your doesn't I would suggest you buy a new motherboard as well (yeah it's a tough world. Get over it!).

Why not click on "Search" and enter "vmware" AND "native"? You really think you are the first one who wants to do this?
