sarahbau
Works more than perfect on my system. If perfect means there are 0 things wrong, does more than perfect mean there are fewer than 0 things wrong?
teh.moebius
Reason for poor performance in Mac OS X I believe is due to QE/CI not being initialised? I think they are responsible for hardware rendering of graphics and if they aren't initialised then software rendering is used instead. Software rendering was used in games over a decade ago when graphics cards had 16MB RAM and struggled to render anything bigger than a box lol. You see I have the same problem and don't know how to fix it which is a shame because I wanted to play some new game demos I've got for Mac. I've got a 7300GT. telarmago
I don't have performance issues, but I do have corrupt shadows and textures. EDIT - Fixed it! Everything is crystal, just like XP! Only thing is a minor FPS loss, nothing to worry about

wingk1314
if it's WOW install the mac version. It should be on the same DVD install. WC3, just update it. The newest updates make them UB which will run a hell lot faster.

equilibriumuk
I have it running ok on my system. The only graphics glitch I notice tho is on the char select screen on undead there are random lines that flicker across the screen. But in-game it seems perfect My FPS seems to average at 100 and even peaks at 200+ Edit: I just changed my drivers from borisbade to jcool and the FPS has gone up loads aswell as sorting out the flickering lines that were showing on the undead character select screen My new FPS averages at around 160 and is peaking at around 256 I'm amazed at the difference it made
Asama
WoW is one of the nice application to test the computer performance. I've try playing WoW with my Hackintosh using 4 different display card: Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB PCIe / inno3D 7600GT 256MB iChilli / Leadtek Winfast 7800GT TDH Extreme / inno3D 6800GT 256MB Basic gear: Intel Core2Quad Q6600 Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 Kingston DDR2 667 1GB x2 + 512MB x2 (total 3GB) Hitachi 250GB SATA II - Jas 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3 v1p + KoolKal 10.4.10, QE/Q2DE/CI enable WD 1600YS 160GB SATA II - Windows XP Pro SP2 Effect set to middle (set to high for the option that only can choose low or high) Testing environment: 1. Postbox next to Orgrimmar's Bank 2. Flying between Orgrimmar & Thunder Bluff 3. Instance: Black Morass 4. Raid: no chance to test because my working hour does not match with the guild raid schedule.... Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB PCIe: 1: 60+, smoother & sharper than Win 2: 60+, smoother & sharper than Win 3: 60+, smoother & sharper than Win, small lag right after last boss ability but recover very quick - Very good performance except movie capture. The movie captured play in four different color channel overlapping each other in different positions (the black/white channel even flip vertically & horizontally ... ) I use this btw... Leadtek Winfast 7800GT TDH Extreme: 1: 60+, smoother & sharper than Win 2: 60+, smoother & sharper than Win 3: 60+, smoother & sharper than Win, small lag right after last boss ability but recover very quick - The best display card in the test. Movie captured play great in any setting. inno3D 7600GT 256MB iChilli: 1: 30-40+, about the same quality as Win 2: 60+, about the same quality as Win 3: 30-40+, about the same quality as Win, small lag right after last boss ability but recover very quick - Overall is not bad. Movie captured play great in any setting. inno3D 6800GT 256MB: 1: below 20, Win 60+, smoother & sharper in Win 2: below 20, Win 60+, smoother & sharper in Win, choppy when switching zone 3: below 20, Win 60+, smoother & sharper in Win, lag anytime/anywhere to the level of nearly missing every critical healing time (yes, I'm Shaman and Druid) - Movie captured play choppy even in the lowest setting. I think the poor result of 6800GT is due to the OpenGL since my 6800GT claimed that it only support OpenGL 1.5 and Mac version is quite fully utilized on OpenGL. Any idea?
