Friends I've literally given up everything a week back after having no luck....!

But I couldn Just give up for no reason...!

I downloaded this iso <Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso>

(without knowin a hint about so much in installing Mac  ) Stil new to Mac

Intel Pentium D 2.8

1.5GB of RAM

ATI Radaeon express 200 (Integrated with D101GGC)

300GB SATA Barracuda..

First time booting natively it didn find my keyboard n mouse then someway it did n now after al pain it is not detecting my SATA..

N just checking my sata controller using 'Everest' it said ATI-SB450..

Then I thought since everybody here made their Mac to run on SATA it had to do something with ATI stuff too n so posted here..

If wrong I'm sorry..

But anyway after installing had to come here only

It' s so hard to tune my pc into a mac... :(

Please help me...

Someone help! What do i have to do....

I used this guide Marc's Blog: OSx86 Install Guide

and at Step 6 where it says

"

  • Go to My Computer and navigate to the partition on which you installed OS X.
  • From there, delete AppleGenericPCATA.kext from /System/Library/Extensions and /System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns.
  • Delete IOUSBFamily.kext from /System/Library/Extensions

"

I can see the drive but it won't let me delete those files because it says it was read-only. And it said something could have gotten corrupted or something, but i dont see how, i followed the guide step for step.

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Mac's Rule :)

I have installed OS X through Vmware without any problems.

im not having a pleasant time trying to get 10.4.9 working on my X200 laptop.

I used the guide and installed through VMWARE but when I try booting osx natively it takes about an hour to get to the desktop (no joke)

You might want to try Uphuck 1.3 DVD. I have a x200 laptop (toshiba A105-s1013) and had the same problem you mentioned. But I just successfully installed os x into my laptop. I am pretty happy with it 'cause it's fast and really useful. Please see the link bellow for details:
