Hi there!
Did anyone install OS X on IBMs Thinkpad X40? Which ISO should be used?
What problems will occur?
Hardware:
* CPU: Intel Pentium-M 1.4GHz (P M 738 LV) (SSE2), 2MB L2 Cache, 400MHz FSB
* Chipset: Intel 855GME
* GFX: Intel Extreme Graphics II (Intel 855GME), 1024x768 XGA, 24bit
Thanks for any hint!

So does anyone have any idea whether an X40 can run OSX?
Point to any tutorials?
At this point I'd take any version of OSX

Hi,
don't know if it helps you, but I installed a 10.4.8 JaS on my IBM R40. I have had some problems about my dedicated Radeon7500m to support QE/CI but I could manage it by this Forum. Finally everything worked including PCCARD and! WLAN (Intel 2100b) LAN (Intel Pro/100VE). Mic did not work...
Trying now installing OSX on my new Acer Extensa 5220...

Can you give a little more help?
I just installed Jas 10.4.8 on my X40 and it installed with no problem,
When I boot it I get the Grey Apple screen, then it starts playing the intro music but the Grey apple screen never goes away, I get no desktop.
Obviously its a video problem,
I am a beginner any idea how to add the video driver for the X40?

Nevermind I have figured it out on my own,
How to install OSX86 on Thinkpad X40
Take this DVD:
Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE 3 with PPF1 & PPF2]
Boot it. Go into the disc utility and format the drive Apple Extended Journaled
Then during the install check everything except X11 install and Fonts, including the Video drivers for ATI/Radeon.
If you don't choose the video drivers you won't get video when you reboot.
Once its done, remove the DVD, reboot and it should work.
Audio should work, mouse should work, video should work, and LAN (wired) should work.
Haven't tested wireless yet or anything else but will follow up.
