Lostgame
How do you make a user not even appear, I'm sick of a certian user's ignorant and mean posts. How do I make the quotes by him disabled as well? Thanks in advance, I'll be able to enjoy the forums a lot more if I can get this fixed.
other
Well sad to hear that. There is one option we'll provide and that is to use the Ignore function I'm not sure if it'll disable quotes though.

Lostgame
Oh, 90% of the regular forum visitors have probably already blocked this user... I just want more. I don't even want to see his physical posts.
kevin_4e
Dice, maybe you just caught him on a bad day. You've only been a member a day or two so give it some time. I think you're jumping to some unecessary conclusions.
Swad
Indeed, Dice, on the whole we try to be a pretty humble group. If there's a disagreement with a staff member, I'm sure it's one of those virtual miscommunications that happens so often when words on a page get taken with a different meaning. Dice7
Seeing How most people have probably Ignored me anyway, I guess I will just leave, sorry to have caused problems. Most people dont even respond to anything anyway. Oh well. Oh and the answers to the Puzzler: http://community.engineering.com/puzzler/i...00/panamacanal/ - How did i get all them... maybe you will never now. Sorry for the trouble I caused you can delete my account now. Later Dice

JaS
I have something to say about the whole, joining and coming on to strong thing. When I first joined here I was so into getting osx86 to work on my box this was at the time of the 4.1 test 3 dvd.I already had the deadmoo image working, but a true install dvd was like the holy grail. Anyway, I also joined the win2osx forum at the same time.I don't remeber who the guys were now but some users were repacking and re releasing the test 3 patches ... I made some comments about it here and on win2osx that I guess at the time I shouldn't have. I was only a memener here for about a 2-3 weeks or so at the time. Needless to say I was in a similar posittion with people not liking me & me not knowing if I should just leave the forum / join with a new nick .....Swad even suggested that maybe I join with a new nick and use that. Oobviously I didn't. My point is that just b/c you start out on the wrong foot with people does not mean it's going to stay that way.So my advice is, relax ... focus on what the forum is for .. installing .. running ... using Mac Os X. Zealot
ofcourse everyone has been ignored sometimes but its not like i will have to go and say it on the forums because that will cause a boost on that effect. This is like everything YOU WILL NEVER FIT RIGHT AWAY ,got to give it some time, by example im not a native English speaker but i do my best to stay in touch with this forum. So i think Dice gave up too early. quixos
i hope it is never made too easy to ignore another. as i never thought it was possible, i was forced to read some fairly offensive stuff, watch people change and morph from one persona to another. had i known how to ignore others, this forum would have been a whole lot less interesting. there is one extremely opinionated person, that i can now chat with occasionally, despite the fact that in the beginning, i wanted to poke him with a sharp stick. A Nonny Moose
Nobody should be ignored and everyone should have to read differences of opinions But there are times when you just need to ignore someone because not ignoring will lead to flame festivals and we all don't want that! Looking back at placing the ignore function in the username menu, perhaps a permanent ignore isn't the solution. Maybe a 1 week ignore or something like that. This way, we don't lose our feel of a good community (think of it like going to your room to get away from your siblings for a while).
Swad
Yeah, I agree that sometimes it may be nice to get away from someone for awhile, like Nonny mentions. However, if there is someone who you absolutely abhor on here, maybe you should let a Mod know about it... chances are you're not the only one, and the person could be here just to cause trouble. DiceNet and I talked via PM, and he finally attributed it all to a misunderstanding. Obviously he's welcome back, anytime.

Mebster
DiceNet and I talked via PM, and he finally attributed it all to a misunderstanding. Obviously he's welcome back, anytime. That's what I love about this guy. He has no need what so ever to go the extra mile but did and does. trust me there are people who at one point I could not stand and had many online arguements. But now we can get along... until the next time. I'll be honest, bofors is the only dude I dislike. But I might not need to worry about that any more. Everyone else I get along with. DiceNet welcome back.
