VMware fusion beta1 crash, SOLVED!

i worked on this problem today.

 

The problem appear on a procs without em64t

 

i patch it, seems to works fine now

 

i will share new version of vmmon.kext in few days

 

ubuntu booting you can see a proc name

vmwaretc1.th.png

unpack archive

 

copy new vmmon.kext to

/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/kexts/

and

/Applications/VMware\ Fusion.app/Contents/

 

chmod -R 755 vmmon.kext

chown -R root:wheel vmmon.kext

 

enjoy

Hi Anoynimouss,

 

Could you do the patch again for the latest beta? (41385)

Fusion complains about seeing a version 156.0 of vmmon instead of the needed 159.0

 

A new version would highly be appreciated...:-)

Or, directions on how you patched it...;-)

Please explain how you patched this so we can patch future releases (for example the VMware-Fusion-50460 release - AKA Release Candidate 1).

 

If you have a patched kext for this release please post it.
