Hi,

I have a Nvidia 7600Go with 512Mo of VRAM. But the problem is it doesn't work with Natit/Titan because of 512Mo VRAM. Anybody has tested with NvidiaEFI.kext ?

I will test this week but if anyone has ever tested i would like know the result.

you can do that by replace natit->defaults -> fboffset value , try with 0 if not work , try with different values

for 256 MB fboffset looks like "fboffset" = <00000200> in ioregs

for 512 MB should look like " fboffset" = <00000300>

...i'm using NvidiaEFI.kext (nvidia fx 5200 128mb agp) instead of titan....works great so far...added agpgart 1.2 (for Intel) and finally got agp bus recognized too(with titan agp+no QE/CI)...GOOD JOB np!

...now to fix my choppy movie playback... :(

Hey, np_

about your brand knew nvidiaEFI.kext, is this only for laptops?

Or should I give it a try as well? (Geforce7600GS 512mb agp)

thanx in advance

is not only for laptops is for any nvidia card apple drivers support

there missing is workaround for 512MB cards only and few thinks useful for future

for lappies to add "laptop-panel-index" property to laptopdisplay provider

that way IOBacklightDisplay class in iographics can know in witch head is internal LCD

on apple machine internal LCD is always at fb index 0 but on PC can be 0 and 1 :)

Oh thanx np_ :)

But I don't understand the part 'bout 512MB, are you saying it has a workaround or that it is still missing a workaround for the problem?

And does this kext replace the functions of all the other nvidia kexts? (geforce.kext, NVDANV40Hal.kext,NVDAResman.kext)

I know it replaces natit/titan.

NVidiaEFI 1.0.2 has just been released.

It contain some bug fixes and adds experimental support for 512mb nVidias

Look for it here

I just tested with my Hackintosh and it didn't work =/

I placed the file into the System/Library/Extensions folder, fixed its permissions, removed the kext caches and rebooted

My specs:

Conroe e6600, ASUS P5W DH Deluxe, 1Gig of Ram, OSX 86 10.4.8 JaS, EVGA e-Geforce 7900 GT KO 512Mb

Booting with -v shows this screen:

post-56171-1170730440_thumb.jpg

After that last line the computer just hangs forever.

If you notice, you'll see the text is very light.

When the OS starts loading, and the gray apple logo appears on the screen (or a bunch of text, if I use -v mode), it looks normal, but after a few seconds, the resolution changes (or not?) and the screen that just looked fine, looks "weak" (just as if I lowered the contrast and brightness on the monitor--wich I didn't).

Hope it helps.

Thank you very much for your efforts, I really appreciate it =)

Question: How can I make my OSX86 work again? =)

yep i seen that , X11 driver seen only 256 MB - same as OS X

and NVIDIA driver seen all 512 MB

witch make me to think that 512MB = 2X 256 ranges ( where IOPCIFamily seen only 256MB from first range )

Is there any way to get dual-screen working? I have currently a gf7800gtx (256ram) with 2x philips 190p tfts connected both on dvi. Under natit everything works, just my computer hangs of natit :(

Cheers,

Senator

Dude, first off, wrong thread. This is a discussion on the topic of 512MB nVidia cards, yours only has 256MB. Second, that question is best suited for it's own thread. Many people will help you, just not in this discussion.
