rumorpro
Most of the Audio Instruments in Logic Pro seem to have hundreds of presets in their pull down menu. However, when I assign the EXS24 to my input channel and the window comes up, there are no presets in the pull down menu. Are there really no presets for this Audio Instrument or is there something wrong with my program? Also I tried reinstalling by trashing the app itself and all of the Logic Pro Reciepts in the Library and then using the install disk. Still no presets for the EXS24. Anyone have any ideas? rumorpro
Or put more simply....could someone open their EXS24 in logic pro, and check if you have any factory presets in your pull down menu? That would be super helpfull.
rumorpro
Im gonna go ahead and guess that its not supposed to have presets because its a Sampler, and not a software instrument or plug in effect.
elRey
if you have installed the content dvd you have samplerinstruments take a look to library/application support/logic --> there is a folder called exs factory samples and another one called sampler instruments
rumorpro
Thanks man. Installed the disk and found the folders. What happened originally was when I went to use the "Deep House" channel strip setting, I realized that I was missing the entire "Deep Bass Synth" folder inside the 06 Bass Channel strip folder. So I had someone copy the folder onto a cd for me. No idea why this was missing from my original instillation. Then when the channel strip setting loaded the EXS24 into my insert, it said "Mini C Dark" was missing. Now its got Mini C dark, but there are still no presets in the pull down. Are there just no presets for the EXS24 sampler? Hate to bury you in novice questions as I've just started using the program, but when I try to import mp3 files into my audio folder, it says the files are unreadable. According to Apples Pro Training guide, the files are supposed to convert themselves to aiff?
elRey
if the installation went fine there must be presets in the EXS there is a little window in the exs where you have to klick for presets there is also an option to refresh the list if you where german i could easyer explain what to do and with the prob with mp3 i dont know a solution cause i dont load mp3's in logic maybe you have to make some adjustments to import them
rumorpro
Just did a fresh reinstall using the directions on apples website. Now When I click and hold on the inserts box, there are no inserts available. However when I choose a channel strip setting, it loads an audio instrument into the insert slot with a diagonal line across it, and plug in effects are loaded but they have diagonal lines through them also. I checked in Library>Application Support>Logic>Plug in Settings, and all the audio instrument folders, and plug in folders seem to be there with the correct files, yet my program no longer has access to them. Maybe I should initialize my hard disk and Do a fresh install? Edited January 24, 2007 by rumorpro

elRey
this prob has nothing to do with the presets there must be a plrob with your audiodrivers take a look at your audio hardware settings
rumorpro
Just Got my scrubbing to work by choosing built in audio in the hardware settings preferences from the audio window. Still dont have working presets though. Thanks for the tip. Just not sure why scrubbing wasnt working for me before. Because the rest of the programs play back was coming through my monitors fine.
