theycallhimpeter
The sound isn't working very well on my laptop with vmware so I get choppy sound. I think the problem is that I have a AMD Turion64 X2 so I think the PowerNow managemant changes the frequency so the sound messes up? But I already tried setting the power profile to Desktop and that didn't change anything... Do you guys have perfect working sound? Does anyone have an idea whats wrong with my system so the sound gets choppy? Any help would be great! Thank you!
macgirl
Yeah, almost prefect if I have no other task in windows. Maybe if you asign more priority to vmware, since vmware is just one more of windows tasks.
theycallhimpeter
Well I have a dual core so it should work out well and they programs should fight over processor time but it might be the anti-virus software on my pc that messes with me. The sound should scrambles over is choppy... Hm... I probably have to remove the anti-virus stuff to try it out. Any other ideas? Any other statements from people who have Mac OS X running on vmware and how their sound is? Anyone with Turion X2 TL-52?
The Dew
How much memory do you have? A processor is useless without alot of good memory. :pirate2:

technomage
I'm having the same problem with choppy/stuttering sound in vmware. I'm running an Asus P5B, core2 duo, and just under 3 GB memory in the box. Running vmware under Linux, so resource hogging by the host OS shouldn't be a problem. If not, however, would changing the nice value assigned to vmware help?

technomage
how did u get audio on vmware? I cheated--I downloaded pre-built virtual machine from the pirate bay. It's 10.4.7, but ethernet is functional, and sound works after a fashion. The sound is somewhat too choppy to really be able to make any real use of it--I'm still working on this issue. To find the pre-built machine, just use the search terms 10.4.7 and vmware on the pirate bay's search. It'll be the first item that comes up. hacamacer
depends if you are running vmware while you are in windows or if you are booting os x nativly? if you pick boot nativly I have the same problem but a chep fix can help. My laptop has only one fan that osx doesnt realize its in there so by defalt it will run at low speed and both my video card and sound card got messed up. So I went out and got a $10 fan and has helped me sooooo much! If you are running in windows a simple but more expensave fix would be to up grade your memmory to maby 2 gigs-1gig for windows and 1 gig for os x
spookyVTzR
I get super choppy audio after installing maxxuss patch ES137x with the 5.5 hack. i use vmware5.5 because it is fast and reliable. if anyone has a fix for the choppyness let me know. Or else i will ahve to use an older vmware which is no good.
