lol reporting my own post...

We get many reports from members reporting their own posts so don't think you'll be alone. The function should be treated as a method for contacting a moderator when you want an action carried out to your thread. :)

  • 4 weeks later...

Why was the ability to delete posts removed? I've got one or two posts which are actually double posts (don't ask me why) and the second needs deleting.

Can we not have this feature back? It just seemed normal to have it.

you gotta be a donator, or something special to be able to do that, ever since i became a donator, i've been able to delet my own posts

:hysterical::):D:hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:

That's the funniest thing i've heard all day.

"DONATE, AND WE'LL LET YOU DELETE YOUR POSTS"

What a way to generate money. You just can't make that up.

Damn I'm laughing my head off.

this way it increases the people to span this beautiful forum. I think moderators should make this available for common users. It is for their own good. Now I understand to pay money for comfortable advantages like finding things easier, modify your own site and so on and so on.

But taking money for deleting your own post is nonsense!

Just as a heads up, you haven't been able to delete your own posts for a *long* time. I think it's proof positive that this is the correct decision to make by the fact that it took so many months for anyone to notice at all!

hahahhah, he has another point!

and really, it is because of abuse (and possibly bofors.... but lets not discuss that :/)

Actually I think i noticed right away. And that was because i accidentally double posted and needed to delete. To be fair i've only needed to use it a maximum of 3 times. And they are all because I double posted.

But still I don't see why we can't delete posts we made. I don't know if it is just me but these restrictions are starting to make me feel slightly uneasy every time something new comes in (or goes out in these cases). I think i'll join bofors ;) when we need to request permission to create a new topic (just joking). I honestly feel like things are going a bit too out of hand although i'm confident it's being done with good intentions.

i think this was partially because of bofors, when he deleted all those threads.....

I wasn't really around much when bofors went on the rampage but honestly if he wanted to go and delete his own posts then that’s up to him. After all it is his work he's removing. And if for some reason it's felt what he has removed was wrong to remove then we all know the admins have the ability to use backups to retrieve it.

If it is because of bofors then this is just a single incidence and really shouldn't mean we have to change our ways (sounds like a cliché). Loads of forums allow the delete and edit options. If they can live with it I don't see why we can't. Like I already said this site seems to be going downhill due to over restricting us as to what we can and can no longer do (which is a shame because I spend a lot of time here). Doesn't feel nice. Although as I said I’m sure it was/is done in the best of interests.

This makes me me actually laugh out loud everytime I think about it.

It's understandable why you're on the borderline. The rich are not really going to take a vote on whether everyone should have money. Most don't care. They're are already rich. I was rich once, now I'm poor. You lot nicked my money.

even if we never had the ability to delete posts bofors still could of done that because he was a natit and macefi mod
Oh yeah I didn't think about that. It appears you need to be in the circle of special people to have these rights. bofors was. So it makes no difference by removing it.
