wow
then try toast 712 works here and i dont see any diffenece between toast v7 and toast v8 ps maybe your illigal toast 8 vrsion is corrupt or not working, try the demo form the site instead if that one works. if it works then you are blaming jas for nothing. Nicklas
Toast 8 uses CI and QE. If you dont have support for it, it wont run (it has a lot of animations, useless, of course)

Vas Toast 8 uses CI and QE. If you dont have support for it, it wont run (it has a lot of animations, useless, of course) Hi TS, i think here's the main issue. Coffee_Bean
I'm having the same problem. 10.4.8 on an AMD, no QE/CI, but then neither Toast 6.1 nor Toast 8 work. They go to start, bounce a few times, and just when something looks like it's going to happen - the icon vanishes with no signs of Toast! Other writing software fails shortly after trying to start the burn. Finally - the same drive worked fine with Toast in JaS' 10.4.7 install on the same box. Grr! (By the way, where/how are the updates applied after installation?) Edited January 25, 2007 by Coffee_Bean
Mihec
I had the same problem running Toast 8 Tit.. When I started the program it was like bounce-bounce-period icon effect. I think the problem is in Helvetica font. Solution : Under Applications open the font book ≥ select all fonts ≥ From the list on the right "right click (ctrl)" on Helvetica Neue and select "Show Font Files" ≥ Copy and paste (in same folder) HelveticaNeue.dfont ≥ rename HelveticaNeue copy.dfont to Helvetica.dfont Voila Worked for me 10.4.8 JAS install and Semthex kernel 8.8.1 Edited January 29, 2007 by Mihec
Coffee_Bean
Nice try, but that didn't fix it. I had a helvetica font anyway, but I backed it up and did as you said just in case, restarted and still nothing. Any ideas anyone!? It doesn't appear to be just Toast, but I'll confirm that in a moment. --- Update - no burning applications seem to like either making images nor burning (and different Toast versions wont even start). I have two PATA drives, one primary master and one secondary master. The primary master is a TSSTCorp writer, now recognised as Yes (Vendor Supported). res1492
I follow your forums very carefully but this is the first time i have posted..some of the work-arounds you guys come up with (JAS especially) are amazing...keep it up...its a good read. Anyway just wanted to let you know.. Its not just you guys..i run 10.8.4 on a G4 quicksilver and toast doesn't work for me either...but it does work under 10.4.7...as soon as i updated to 4.8 it bounces a few times then quits And this is with a legit copy... Their saying its the Helvetica.dfont on the roxio forums but thats bull-locks Edited January 30, 2007 by res1492
