mobo is good i run one. all but sleep works. overclocks easily.

the acer monitor is alright, stand is a bit crappy it shakes.

dvd drive is nice and quite, i have 3. (shows apple shipped and supported).

graphics card - good for the price should work fine with natit of titan

processor - dunno i havent used a pentium d. c2d 1.8ghz is about the same price.

Case - too blinging for me. i like minimalistic. no lights. windows, extra unneeded {censored}. but hey its your pref.

im not at one of my real machines im stuck on the ppc piece o' crud. but here it is roughly:

your HD>System>library>extensions>io80211.kext

right click io80211.kext show package contents

contents>plugins>broadcomm4....kext

right click broadcomm4....kext and show package contents

contents>info.plist

right click info.plist open with textedit

find iopcimatch: edit to your pci-id

drag info.plist to desktop. back to textedit> save as> desktop>info.plist (uncheck hide extension and add.txt if no extension given)

drag info.plist from your desktop back to the contents of the broadcomm4....kext

authenticate>enterpassword>click replace> close all finder windows

open terminal type sudo -s>enterpassword>hit enter:

now enter:

sudo chown -R root:wheel (drag the io80211.kext to terminal hit enter)
sudo chmod -R 755 (drag the io80211.kext to terminal hit enter)

exit terminal.

open disk utility repair permissions and restart.

core 2 duo?

This is what you want for serious overclocking: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819117103

... otherwise this is certainly worth 99 cents over the E6300: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819117102

The "Xeon" branded Conroes are of higher quality and overclock better.

This is a much better graphics card for a little more cash: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814143049

You not going to be able to overclock all the way with that ASUS P5LD2-VM R2.0, you might want to want until Tuesday to see if Apple releases a Mac with the 965 chipset.

That Patriot RAM is probably OK, but you could probably do better by spending $10 or so more.

There seem to be a lot of 19" widescreens (1440 x 900) in your price range: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....;SubCategory=20

I would certainly go with one on those over the 17" you picked out. But because these panels should be expected to last for well over five years, not to mention that this is in fact what you are constanting looking at, this is perhaps the last place you want to skimp. So going with a quality brand like Samsung is recommended.
