The xbox won't boot the copy without a modchip installed, but that is better left to another forum.
where do yo get the modchip/what is it?

Dude, you are retarded just for asking that question. What part of "better left to another forum" do you not understand? And by the way, don't post useless, one sentence {censored} all over the forums.

You CAN not copy xbox games with a normal computer. The only way to do so is to read the disc via the xbox itself. To do so, get a modchip (like many said already) and then you install a new dashboard (I like Xbox Media Center) and you can copy the game to the hard drive of the xbox or you can have it make an image to your computer. There are a ton of applications for both OS X and Windows that will read the drive over a network, copy the game to an image OR you can have an image that you already made and use the same program to expand it onto the xbox. Good luck.

The forums over at Xbox-Scene may be helpful to some of you. I wouldn't say it has all you need but it definately links off to plenty of sites that should set you in the right direction. Check it out, read and learn some, and continue on if you think you can handle it.

You can probably buy Halo 2 for next to nothing these days. Therefore, purchasing a modchip and installing it probably isn't worth it just to boot up a $20 game (assuming you can't get a used copy cheaper).

Good luck :)
