barnz0432
I recently got a M-Audio Firewire solo to use for recording on my hackintosh. I seem to have trouble getting it working. It will not recognize as being plugged in. I currently am running 10.4.8 on an Intel Bad Axe. e6300 @ 2.33 2gb ddr2 800 Intel Bad Axe x1600xt Mac OS X 86 10.4.8 smithex Any help would be great. Anything I use besides this works great Final Cut and all the other apps work great. EXCEPT THIS! Thanks Barnz0432
barnz0432
I finally got it working by downloading the 10.4.8 drivers, but I cannot seem to get it to work with any other software besides the supplied. I cannot get it to work in garage band or logic pro 7. I cannot get any sound output whatsoever in logic pro 7. Any suggestions?
gfella
barnz....I bought the same firewire recording interface (firewire solo) last week.....I was using OSX 10.3.9 at the time with garageband, and everything was working fine....I then added an M-audio Axiom 49 key midi controller and it worked perfect with garageband through my usb port....At this point I started getting pretty ambitious and upgraded my Powerbook G4 laptop to OSX 10.4.8 and installed Logic Pro 7.0......Wouldn't you guess, that right now I have the same problems you are experiencing.....I've read everything from M-audio products don't integrate well with Logic to tinkering with every option availiable on this firewire solo unit.....Still, no luck.....When I play midi through Logic it recognizes the notes I'm playing, but I get no audio whatsoever....I tried hooking my guitar straight through my line-in on my laptop, and I still get absolutely nothing as far as output.....I did tinker around with the settings of the firewire solo audio setup and can now here sounds through my headphones which are plugged into the interface, but now nothing is registering in Logic.....This is crazy.....Anybody with any suggestions??????? joelones
Hey Guys, Installed the 10.4.8 drivers for the firewire solo and it seems to work first shot. Of course had to switch the to "FireWire Solo Multichannel" for both Output / Input in the sound preferences pane. I was able to record a guitar track in GarageBand.
