Hi there!

i don't know if this is the right place for the topic.

i also did use the search and couldn't find a good anser to this.

I got OS 10.4.6 jas image up and running.

I Installed the MacVidia 1.0.8 drivers so that my grafik card was recognized worked fine, can run any solution.

laptop is a dell Insprion 8600

However i can't play video (dvd) files neither with the apple dvd player nor VLC player.

I tried World of Warcraft and Warcraft III both won't work.

Seams like it couldN#t load the opengl drivers (?)

in the System Profiler it says

VRAM (Total): 128 MB

Device ID: 0x031b

Revision ID: 0x00a1

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz

Depth: 32-bit Color

Core Image: Not Supported

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

my question -

Is there a driver i'm missing ? is there anyone at all?

or is my grafik card not able to play the games?

What has Quartz Extreme to do with opengl ?

Sorry but i don't understand the problem quite well.

The grafik card is recognized but not the things it can do ????

Thank you for any hint.

and all of you have a happy new year

greetings

silverriver,

i have the 5600, so the cards are almost exactly the same. i am in the exact same position. allow me to give you some advice. JaS will be releasing his SSE2 10.4.8 DVD very soon (today or tomorrow) and this will be where you need to begin. this is a dramatic improvement over everything else because it uses new kernels thanks to the hard work of a lot of people like semthex. then, you can use Titan / Natit to get complete support and QE/CI. Check in the forums for links. Heres a few good ones im looking at.

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=36480 For this link, begin reading on the NVIDIA part. dont worry about the first part as the JaS dvd will be different.

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=36435 This is also a good easy option that may work. talk to prasys.

if you need any help, pm me...i will be moving over to these as well.
