Installed the latest version of the driver shows as built in ethernet in network settings, connects and gets an IP address, Added in dns servers and managed to browse the internet, but it was really slow and then crashed after a few mins - You need to restart your computer. so close!

I fixed the problem in current trunk.
if someone can use xcode, plz build current trunk and test it.

if someone want binaries ,I will post binaries.

Please post the binaries, I am unfamilair with XCODE.

you have to get the 10.4.5

the 10.4.6

and the 10.4.7

extract all files from 10.4.5 to a folder

overwrite with files from 10.4.6 and 10.4.7

this gives some work

better to use the files from 10.4.8 - extract only once and it's done

i've explain all this in previous posts

Trying to use this and v7 iwi2200 but still see message in black square - You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power buttton... I am using 10.4.8.

First of all I would like to thank all those responsible for helping develop the these drivers and so forth, your time and effort is extremely appriciated. I tested the iwi3945 on my laptop (gateway nx100). The installation did disable my BT as it did for others as well. Posted are my logs. Hope they help. If there is anything else we, as beta testers, can do to assist in the process please let us know. Godspeed.

ok so . . . I'm not sure if I'm installing this right. I got the kext on my desktop, did sudo kextload (this was after I edited it btw) and nothing happened . .

I have a 2915ABG pro/wireless . . . am I doing something wrong here?

you have to get the 10.4.5

the 10.4.6

and the 10.4.7

extract all files from 10.4.5 to a folder

overwrite with files from 10.4.6 and 10.4.7

this gives some work

I still have the well known Couldn't alloc class "darwin_iwi2100" message at boot...

i've tested this version today

it allows me to download a large file without crashes

we're almost ready to release a new iwi2200 stable version

i haven't mentioned before but

you all know that a .dmg files is a disk image

and that it's opened by the finder

no zip compression here

Sorry, was on vacation for a couple of days... Just came back home and installed the latest version of your iwi2200 driver...

Works great for me on 10.4.8 Beta 9

So apparently the latest version of the driver is not as stable as the previous one I was using (have to admit that I'm still using all original 10.4.8 kexts)

looks like you need to fix permissions - use Applications/Utilities/ disk utility to do that

you're using iwi2100_v3.dmg? that's the last build

looks like many users are getting trouble with the IO80211Family.kext and Apple80211.framework

can someone build a pkg or zip the files for 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 and make them available

I tried to load the 3945 v4 dmg package but no card found. if i try to load the kext manually it says: cannot resolve dependencies for kernel extension iwi3945.kext
what's wrong?

hi jalavoui . after v8 osx wont boot . i tried booting -s but nothing. then tried -s and sbin/fsck and /sbin/mount and tried to uninstall by
rm /System/Library/Extensions/iwi3945.kext
rm /System/Library/Extensions.*
kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions
and then reboot but still wont boot cause iwi3945 is still there

if there is another way to uninstall v8 and boot so i can install v9 and test it please say else i will just renstall osx

You need to boot from your OSx86 CD, then start the Terminal, THEN do the step
sudo -s
rm /Volumes/"YOURMACOSX86PARTITIONHERE"/System/Library/Extensions/iwi3945.kext
rm /Volumes/"YOURMACOSX86PARTITIONHERE"/System/Library/Extensions.*
kextcache -k /Volumes/"YOURMACOSX86PARTITIONHERE"/System/Library/Extensions

Much better here, I can actually associate and use the network, but it is less stable than V6 and not any faster (Of course, you already knew this )

Will revert to V6 for now, but whatever you did fixed my inability to get on the network xkazu, so your definitely getting there!

Hi,
thanks to all for your work! I now give my little contribution.

I downloaded:

MacOSXUpd10.4.7Intel.dmg (thus, not the Combo update);
MacOSXUpd10.4.8Intel.dmg (again, not the Combo update).

I then extracted, from each of these updates, the following three items:

IONetworkingFamily.kext
IO80211Family.kext
Apple80211.framework

Then, I tried for each of those "triplets" all the latest versions of iwi3945, by manually kextloading the driver (the ethernet cable has been always left unplugged).

Results:

1) With kexts and framework from 10.4.7 update:

0.7, 0.8, 0.9 DO NOT load, due to unsatisfied dependencies.

2) With kexts and framework from 10.4.8 update:

0.7 loads successfully; ifconfig shows indeed an eth address (seems different from the one under winXP) but the interface is inactive, I can't turn it on neither with the phisical switch nor with fn-F5, nor by rebooting after having switched it on under WinXP;

0.8: kernel panic;

0.9: kernel panic.

I think something is still unclear regarding the correct kexts to use, I have read all the posts on this thread and still I am not sure about which ones have to be used...
