Auggie
Wow, if you get this working, you will accomplish what many others were unable to. I wish you the best of luck -- I went ahead and got a Broadcomm chip to fix mine... Hope you get it working!

Guest bikedude880
My main question is this: Are you trying to have it use Apples wireless networking kext (hard/not documented) or Apples wired kext (easier/well documented/needs a custom interface for setting it up). Whatever path you take, good luck. This is one hell of a project to be working on.
dadaz
Doesn't work with 10.4.8 kernel (SSE2 B6) and 10.4.8 extensions. It detect 2200BG card but makes panic talking about dependencies. Can you code this with 8.8.1 kernel and 10.4.8 extensions dependencies, a lot of people have this config now I think. Any way I'll reinstall a new OSx86 this WE and tried this again. Will tell you. powrslave
I realize you said 10.4.4 but i put it on a 10.4.7 and had wifi light blinking --but it kinda killed my logon and I was stuck with a busy mouse and a gray screen. Auggie
This is the furthest anyone has gotten with this, is it not? Sorry if I'm wrong... ...Keep up the hard work. Doesn't REALLY affect me anymore, I've changed my card anyway, but it DOES affect a TON of current AND future users. Great project.
dvdemecillo
this load ok on my laptop and i got a new network port detected (Airport) under Network (System Preferences). sadly, i can't connect to our unsecured wifi here at the office. to double-check our wifi network is working, i reboot the same laptop under vista and was able to connect from there. i think this is pretty close but i do experience a hard lockup. anyway, thanks for giving us hope my hackintosh: acer travelmate 2420 p-m 740 (1.73ghz, sse2) intel gma900 (qe(2d)/ci/opengl) osx 10.4.8 (almost pure apple w/ semthex 8.8.1 beta9 exp6 sse2 kernel)

rathalos
just a report, its fun to see your wireless icon blink on your laptop, but this is far from complete.... great to jus try once, but it WILL lockup your system if u use it long term... (i had mine lock up many times already) it works on a 10.4.8 system, but you have to first get your pcmcia driver working first, and it can be found somewhere on this site.... cannot connect to any single network, even open ones... cannot detect and scan and list in the airport menu... changing some settings causes a system wide lockdown.... i think there are many issues to be resolved here, other than jus porting.... but great work!!!!! got my hope flame burning again even since i got a usb wireless adaptor.... TaterSalad77
and for all you noobers out that who borked your system installing this and cant get it up and running again, just do the following: 1. boot in single user mode with -s flag 2. type /sbin/mount -uw / at prompt 3. then type rm -R /System/Library/Extentions/iwi2200.kext 4. reboot and you should be back to normal

Rammjet
This driver is still an "alpha" type release. No one in the thread reports it to be fully working. Only that the card is recognized but won't connect. I'm afraid you will need to wait for another release of the driver to hopefully get one that connects. rathalos
i agree with rammjet..... we'll just have to cross our fingers and pray hard that the original writer could work out the details and post a more working version....
