macmaniac
I had troubles with this card. First I had it working, and then it didn't. Offering money to anybody for a fix didn't help. I was ready to sell it. My big problem was that I didn't have a DVI monitor or adapter, second problem was that I was just doing too much {censored} (started editing this and that in terminal). A methodical approach is required, peoples. Finally, I began to suspect my problem was (lack of) DVI related (because grep did nothing) so I coughed up and bought (my other panel is an Apple Studio 17" with that damn proprietary connector) a new LCD (22" Viewsonic with iPod dock Dell Widescreen). (Too many brackets!) So here's what worked: pre step 1. wipe hard drive for fresh install pre step 2. install nVidia card, set bios for PCIe 1. Install latest 10.4.8 Jas DVD (the semthex/mifki reseed) Select only JaS10.4.8, mifki kernel, and NOTHING ELSE (unless you absolutely need it). DO NOT select GMA900/950. You can add audio/networking etc. later..... reboot 2. Install NeoPheus Natit 1.0 with his wonderful installer. I love you man! reboot - (I repaired permissions with disk utility first, but it didn't find anything to repair) 3. Enjoy QE/CI in all its OSX glory! You will have a heart attack when the screen goes blank for a long time. So simple. No editing in Terminal/Nano/Pico /sudo chown etc..... Nothing! I had tried Titan, but it only worked once, and on subsequent reboots I got a black screen. With other versions of Natit, I was missing the mouse pointer. My suggestions to those having troubles is to simplify first. Fresh install with latest DVD. Have a DVI and VGA monitor on hand to try different ports. Do not edit kexts until you have tried both VGA, DVI and worked through both Titan, and the several versions of Natit. I certainly didn't need to mess with the monitor EDID. Semthex kernel will probably work, but I don't use it because it messes up my suspend to ram/hibernate. I hope this helps someone else out there who has banged their head against the computer like I have.....

interfuse
Thanks man! This also worked for me! Booooya! Now if I could only get my ALC861 working with 10.4.8 I'd be a happy camper! Another day, another fight.
soundboy
Worked for me too!
interfuse
After about 53 installs I finally got everything working!! Woo hooo. The sound was working okay with the Azilia Drivers and NeoPheus Natit 1.0. Just VLC & Apple DVD player were running choppy. I reinstalled with the GMA 900 support and deleted the kexts for GMA950. Updated the kernel, ran patchburn and now everything is running like a top. Back on track with 10.4.8 baby. Bring it.
macmaniac
Glad that others have found this thread useful. so you have dual screen and dvi out? Just to answer this, as I am on a posting binge today, DVI or Analog work, not both at the same time. One of the newer Natits might get it working, but haven't tried as I'm a one monitor type of guy right now.

macmaniac
Well, this card works with most flavours of OSx86. But I have only been able to get this card to wake up from sleep with JaS 10.4.8 WITH the (original) Mifki kernel. So yes, its easy to get QE/CI working with this card, but don't expect it to wake from sleep. I don't recommend this card anymore.

So this card works flawlessly in Leopard with jccool's X1950XT installer. ie NATIT. AND... wait for it..... It works FLAWLESSLy with PC_EFI_V8 and GFX strings!!! This is in my ASUS P5K-E WIFI board. Why was I having problems? I had this video card in my ASrock Conroe 945-DVI board, and what I've learned is that Leopard/EN7300GT/ASRock945 combo just isn't good.
