I have tried Katana 0.2c and at the circluar thing boot screen - it hangs. I then tried Katana 0.3 and not much has changed...cept now i get no Kext Loaded... Type: VGA-Compatible Controller Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 128 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x5961 Revision ID: 0x0001 Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded Displays: Display: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported This is not suposed to happen right? Am i doing something wrong here? I managed to change the resolution to 1280 x 1024 via the com.apple.Boot.plist file.
nastyhome
/System/Library/Extensions/CallistoHAL.kext/Contents/Info.plst <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x59611002&0xffffffff</string> card no 5961 vendor no 1002 Chipset Model: Radeon 9200 Type: Display Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 128 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x5961 Revision ID: 0x0001 Displays: Display: Resolution: 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported I had the resolution to 1280 x 1024 but the monitor went out of sync and had to change it back to 1024 x 768.... Now i wonder how i can change the PCI bus to AGP...I mean this is an AGP card! Edit: I installed Katana 0.3a4 and it didnt detect my card again so i had to boot into safe mode and changed the vendor and card numbers. It got AGP on my stats and can only seem to work on 1024x768.. How do i know if i have software 2d acceleration?

The M.A.R.T.
Is there something like Katana also for the Nvidea chipset of laptops, like the 440go that I have in my Compaq Presario R3000? I mean all is running fast, only the screenresolution is on 1024 x 768 instead of 1200 x 800 normal resolution and no hardware acceleration... Is there a resolution? If anyone knows please PM me... kriss13
http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=21182 The above tutorial works GREAT for me (see 1st page/1st post) I used Callisto_b006 on jas 10.4.8. DVD. Installed clean with just intel sse2 support (i have amilo m 1425 pentium m centrino 1.8mhz), with ci/qe suport out of the box. Chipset Model: Radeon Mobility 9600/9700 (M10/M11) NP Type: Display Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 128 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x4e50 Revision ID: 0x0000 so I got Resolution: 1280 x 800 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported After trying all sorts of solution this simple one worked first shot (to the letter, followed all reebotings during the hack) Bugs: -my video card is on AGP (detected as PCI, don't think performane is afected..any clue ?) -"about mac" the CPU shows just 600mhz (lowest clock step) , my former 10.4.5 shows my CPU corectly at 1.8 mhz... also dont see any impact on performance. History: Something similar worked perfect for 10.4.5 (dont know the distro) but with Callisto_b003fixed and without hex hack. I hope this helps
