So, I dunno if you guys remember the days of AllAdvantage, but they were the original "display ads on a sidebar, earn cash" people. And supposedly they actually worked (official documents list total payouts of $120 million, and lot's of people claim to have been paid). Interesting. So it might actually work. If so, sweet, I don't mind a few extra ads (on the side, nice and out of the way on my widescreen :ninja:).

Check it out: Agloco (disclaimer: this is my referral link, if you don't feel like being nice, remove everything except the domain)

There is a calculator in the site, software isn't released yet, but I assume is just Windows, but as somebody suggest me (in the MarketPlace) use VMware with smal installation of XP and install there the ViewBar

Payouts are in checks, you earn it by displaying the ads in your toolbar. Thus, the tradeoff :D

Yes (see center bottom):

I signed up, but I am skeptical that this point. Plus I suck at getting referrals, to be completely blunt.

My referral link:

What happens when the Pyramid falls apart and the agloco goes belly up? I guess we lose time that we spent getting referrals and surfing. The company says don't do anything out of the ordinary that you normally would not do like surf the web a really long time. But I think if I got paid to surf, then I would probably do it more. Don't you think?

I gotta say I despise this kind of {censored}.. it's voluntary spyware for pay.. do some work & get paid for it, dont prostitute your surfing time to feed the godawful internet marketing industry. Referral schemes are nothing more than selling your social network, prostituting your friends for the same reasons. Spamming is no longer as profitable as it was, so more devious schemes of social engineering are used..

These parasites only exist with our consent, please don't feed this despicable industry.

You'll never see a Pyramid Scheme do their own advertising, they really on us to give them free advertising.

I opted out of the program. I think this scheme will fail and leave many users out on a limb.

i have tried but im too lazy to get referrals.

I am naturally out of this.

Super. I did get one referral, but I'd rather spend my time in InsanelyMac, Programming or just hanging out with my family rather than hounding people to sign up.

I read somewhere that someone got 10,000 referrals with AllAdvantage.com but the only got $25,000. The reason why I say only is that a ton of work for just $2.50 per referral. And you know someone at the top of the company got paid alot more than this.

AllAdvantage.com reportedly gave out $100 Million, but also made $200 Million. Where did the other $100 Million go? I'd either went into someone's pocket or was spend on celebrity parties. Either way it's a scam that is making a couple people rich while millions make a few bucks here and there for doing alot of leg work themselves.

The person with 10,000 referrals wud have had a 150 direct referrals (Chk out the uploaded image)..the rest are indirect,u dont need to do anything there !!

And about your issue bout the founders making money, for christ's sake, I cant be jealous of page and brin cause they earn everytime I search !!

They are the FOUNDERS ,give them credit !

And if ur so against them earning more then U ,start ur own !! (that might sound mean ,but that's the reality. The innovators need to earn more !)

And morever,AGLOCO site clearly says "A global community owned by members "

They are going to keep 10% of the money and distribute the rest amongst members. That money would be needed to keep all the "STANFORD GRADUATES" in the company. Chk the team out

Don't get me started! You are copying and pasting propaganda.

propaganda |ˌpräpəˈgandə| noun 1 chiefly derogatory information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view : he was charged with distributing enemy propaganda. • the dissemination of such information as a political strategy : the party's leaders believed that a long period of education and propaganda would be necessary .

Bottom line it is still a Pyramid scheme. It will collapse. They will probably have Slow payment and they will collect 10% of all money that you make. This is before they get their money for being at the top of the Pyramid with thousands of users below them.

Why does a Simple Pyramid require 15 MBA's? It looks so simple that a 5 yr. old could come up with this business model. Looks like this Pyramid is top heavy! It's going to fall over.

Look at us, we are arguing about a Pyramid company. This is like Lord of the Flies and it is already creating bad karma and enemies. Sounds like a complete failure to me.

If this scheme works, then why did AllAdvantage.com go out of business? Companies like Google and eBay work. These have proven to survive the Web 1.0 and 2.0 eras. I would stick with the big leagues rather than putting all my eggs on a spoiled rookie. I say spoiled because this company smells fishy. It's down right rotten.

Agloco limits you to 5 hours a month. So if you leave the AGLOCO ViewBar on more than 5 hours, they are getting FREE advertising and you won't get paid for putting in those extra hours.

The ViewBar is Windows only. Why the hell would I want to surf the internet on a Virus and Spyware prone system?

Also, I hated the ads on Hotline and I will also dislike gettings ads constantly thrown in my face on my desktop. They will be colorful and animated. They will always be there when you have the toolbar on. They will probably pay you more when you buy a product. And they will get another cut from you from buying those products. I don't mind if ads are on a webpage that I choose to go to, but having ads always there on your browser window in the taking up my desktop space just plain sucks.

You are going to get peanuts while the founders who are at the top of Pyramid will make millions. After they make their millions or billions, they will then drop out of the Pyramid and take their shares with them. The little guys at the bottom of the Pyramid will then have not enough money to make and it will GO OUT OF BUSINESS.

Their stock is not even going to be in the US, it think it is going to overseas in France somewhere.

I don't need to research a company that already looks like a bad egg. This type of business model is the wrong way to go. They don't even have the product! Their product is you! AGLOCO is monopolizing your time getting referrals or looking at ads all day. They are taking Advantage of All your free time. Don't be surprised if when this fails that you find yourself at the bottom. This is a 100% guaranteed failure.

AGLOCO has bad roots. It's tainted. Did you make any money yet? Have fun wasting your precious free time. Add up the number of hours you do using the ViewBar, getting referrals and logging into your account, and include the number of hours that you even think about AGLOCO. I bet you would be getting paid .01 cents an hour.

BTW, do you know what the hourly rate is they you will be getting paid? They can't tell you this can they? AGLOCO will say, the more the merrier, the more you get paid. There isn't an hourly rate, it is whatever the heck they feel like paying you. You might as well be a circus elephant making peanuts.

OMG, a middle school student came up with the name? I don't want my kids involved with this company! Why is a pyramid scheme targeting kids anyway?

Anne Sophie Mayos Anne-Sophie handles AGLOCO's website and her sense of style makes sure it is always up to date. Originally from Paris, she designed media information sites for millions of online users at France's leading television channel.

In my opinion, the website like the scheme is cheesy. I know this because I come from the cheese state. hehe

Steve de Bonvoisin Steve coordinates AGLOCO's communication and strategy implementation. Why does an internet company need someone who has worked on four continents? :D

Jim Jorgensen Founder of AllAdvantage and Discovery Zone. Jim's experience of paying $100 million to members in 1999 and pioneering the “returning value to Internet users” idea, is an invaluable source in guiding AGLOCO's new Development Team members.

They paid out $100 Millions dollars, Spent the other $100 Million on themselves and the company tanked.

Good one! ;)

Trey Reasonover Trey is our in-house community dynamics specialist. He became a Web 2.0 addict after working as a strategy consultant, and attends Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
A Web 2.0 addict? I guess that is better than drugs. :thumbsup_anim:

Javier Alvira Javier is our in-house blogger expert. A native of Spain, he worked as an engineer in telecommunications around Europe before joining Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

In house blogger expert? He should be renamed to in-house propaganda spreader and chief brain washer.

Ray Everett-Church Ray was the world's first corporate Chief Privacy Officer, pioneering the field of corporate privacy professionals. An attorney and technology expert, he is responsible for ensuring the privacy and security of AGLOCO's Member information and providing guidance on privacy and anti-spam issues.
Let's see, installing adware on your computer, giving them your private information, and polluting the internet with people spreading agloco's pseudo gospel. Does not sound like they are too concerned about your privacy and spam.

Sam Flax Sam is AGLOCO's Chief Architect for the design of our economic network. Sam's 30 years in Russia and then 20 years in the US give to AGLOCO a unique perspective on managing and implementing our database.

The only thing they are keeping track of in their database is you. It's 1984 all over again.

Dan Jorgensen Dan is AGLOCO's Member recruiting coordinator. He worked in sports marketing and online advertising before helping AGLOCO create its network.

If AGLOCO lives on its user base getting referrals to grow its network, why does it need a recruiting coordinator?

It looks like all these salaries are just more parasites to a money hungry worthless organization. My prediction: This company will be out of business by 2010. If these people even exist, they will be rich and you will still be poor.

I dont intend to make a living out of this. U say 2010,even if it shuts down in 2009,I wud'nt mind making a few 100 dollars a month for the next two years for surfing 5 hrs a month with the viewbar on.I am still studying,so any extra cash wud be great.

AND WHY DO U THINK U WILL BE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PYRAMID ?? .The viewbar is not yet out. The site is in BETA !! And it has 250,000 members. All Advantage had more than 10,000,000 !!

And of the 250,000 members ,using the 20/80 rule ,only 50,000 members have referrals under them. I have 30 direct referrals and am in the top 2.5% !!

And as AGLOCO expands,my member base will grow irrespective of me doing anything.

EVEN IF LASTS FOR ONLY 2 YEARS,I WANT TO BE A PART OF IT FOR THE WHOLE OF THE 2 YEARS RATHER THAN START BUILDING MY NETWORK WHEN THE FIRST BATCH OF PEOPLE START EARNING.

TO EACH HIS OWN.Those guys will earn millions irrespective of us joining them or not. That is what probably enticed all those STANFORD GRADS to leave their lucrative jobs and start AGLOCO.

I wud'nt mind having a small part of the money.Even if it is PEANUTS compared to what they earn ,for a student like me,a few hundred dollars is quite significant.
