I have the 3680 working with 10.4.8 JaS reseed.

I used broadcom guide here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=23684

The ID for the 3680's WiFi Card is:

<string>pci14e4,4318</string>

Also in "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist"

Make sure to change en0 to en1 and also to change IOInterfaceUnit from 0 to 1.

Let me know if you still have problems.

Hi, I Have the Acer 3680-2574. I'm using 10.4.8 SSE2,3 AMD and INTEL JAS 10.4.8

My wireless Atheros Device ID is 001A and the vendor ID is 168c. You don't have

to change the kexts, you can use the 10.4.8 ones. Just open IO80211Family.kext and

navigate into plugins/airportatheros5424/info.plist. Under IONameMatch I'll show what I

have:

<string>pci168c,1a</string>

<string>pci168c,1A</string>

<string>pci168c,001A</string>

<string>pci168c,001a</string>

I've added 1A, 1a, 001A and 001a, I know that only one of those lines is working...jajaja

but i'm too lazy to try! jajaaja

After that you'll have to do the en0 to en1 trick that is documented everywhere.

Hope it works for you, I'm using Airport to write this.

I don't have this file "/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist"

Yeah i'm having the same problem with my 3680. I feel as though i've tried everything but i'm going to try to not install the airport drivers this time around.

One weird problem i had was i got the wifi drivers working but that was only when i was booting from the cd to boot the os. If i booted it from acronis the graphics just went all over the place.

now i can boot fine with acronis and just no networkinterfaces.plist which is really annoying

ok, my laptop doesnt have a battery, so i when i unplugged it and turned it off, the wireless was dead on the next restart. unsure if the complete loss of power changes anything or if this will always be the case.

turning off the computer and repeating the trick about holding down the wireless switch during boot fixed it.
