Hi All!!

Hello, I will buy a new computer with the following components:

Case ATX Vitsuba Master 550w

Cpu Intel Core2Duo E6300 775 box

Mother MSI 975X Platinum s/r 775 box

DDR2-667 1024Mb PC2-5400

HD 160Gb 7200rpm SATA2

Video SAPPHIRE X1300XT 256MB PCI

What do you think about the Video Card, will it support QE?

I was searching in the forum but I only found the X1300 and not the X1300 XT

By the way if you wonder how much money it will cost me:

u$s 1050 :D

Don't worry about that I'm not in the USA and it's more expensive here :)

better go with NVidia.

at the moment all NVidia have better support in OSX.

i've got XFX GeForce 7300 GT and it's fully supported with Natit.kext (2 dvi out fully working, 2 displays, even 30 inch display can be connected to the main dual-DVI out)

@boo50

Good afternoon (greece here).

As i mentioned in another topic (video creation), i made a mistake and builted a new PC, but with not compatible hardware (at the moment).

So i am thinking on building a new one, with some compatible hardware.

I am thinking on the following Motherboards:

Intel - D945GNTL

Asus - P5LD2-VM

Asrock - CONROE945G-DVI

as i read, that they are quite compatible.

I think that the Intel board is better option, cause it also has Firewire onboard (or not?).

Are you happy with your setup?

Osx86 installation found everything from the board you got?

and, why did you installed the 7300GT ? isn't the onboard 950 enough?

I ask the above, cause i have a GeForce 6600LE from the new PC i made (not using it, cause of a conflict with my PCI MPEG decoder), and i was thinking on selling it.

So, do you think i shall keep it from this Osx86 machine i will make?

My goal is to fix a new machine for DVD Authoring.

Let me know

Regards

Yes, that WAS the case, but a few weeks ago, Natit/Titan came along and now many many Nvidia graphics cards have full Quartz Express/Core Image support, which is just gravy. :D

And right now Nvidia is just better performance/price for serious 3d like a 7600gs is a great great card and 100% supported thanks to titan/natit and the new 10.4.8 kernels.

If you're not into 3d games or anything intensely Quartz/Core image demanding, go with the GMA950 though, it gives great performance at really good prices.
