Sorry about offtopic - but what means R2D2 ? And how can I use it to install new Security 2006-007 update? In another tread I read that after installing Security Update You need repair permissions before reboot. And thats all, is it right?

As I am new to community sometimes I dont understand the shorten words or sleng.

Ok, to resume:

For Intel people running an install with r2d2, it's safe.

The other need to restore the decrypts because Finder is updated.

For AMD, it's not working since they need some patched files which are updated (Finder) in the security fix.

They should wait for a patch of the security patch :compress:

Thank You Semthex!

But to be sure - if I have JaS 10.4.8 installed with Semthex (thans again for that!) kernel, is there r2d2 already done or it some kind of patch that I need to run after installing security update 2006-007? Or is already done, just need to install Security Update and repair permissions?

I dont know, I even dont know how R2D2 looks like and what it is doing. So thats why I am asking silly questions. Because dont wanna reinstall OS X after installing update. But now I understand that for such a end-user as I, better I will not install that Security Update 2006-007 :)

Finder is included so it'S defently bad for AMD but I got wired reports from INTEL too.

When I opened the 10.4.8 Intel Sec Update installer to look, I didn't see Finder.app. Course, I might be blind today. Or, I managed to download the wrong one.

Maybe they only updated Finder in the other 3 updates they published.
