naplo
I also have the AD1986A Soundchip in my Lenovo N100 Notebook. But I installed Mac OSX but I have no experience with it, so I even don't know how to find and delete the 2 files you are speaking about. I want to try to install ALC880 Azalia fix, but if I am right I have to delete the files AppleAC97Audio.kext and AppleHDA.kext and then install the ALC880 Azalia fix. I know how to install the fix, but I don't know how to delete the files. I would be pleased if someone could tell me...

naplo
I just did what you wrote, but after I looked in the file again the file wasn't changed I think. If I try to change the file over the finder it says it cannot be saved after I edited it...

dignouf
taruga's applehdapatcher works perfectly with AD1986a (Samsung R55 Laptop). make a dump of your codec#0 using a linux live cd and use it with applehdapatche 1.13 (not another version). Eyecube
Hello. I have a 1986 too, but i'm stuck with only the volume slider. I've tried all the techniques stated in this thread, and others. It just won't work :s I have a Asus W3J which is really similar to the A8j (the soundcard is the same Soundmax 1986). I'm running on Leopard. Any ideas on what could go wrong? Thanks.
