Hello altogether,

i like to tell you some things about my experiences.

First how to start the machine:

- get the Image "tiger-x86.tar" from a major torrent site

- decompress the Image with winrar (need about 6,5GB Disk space)

- Install "VMWare 5.x"

- choice "open existing VM" after starting the "VMWare" and allocate

the decompressed image

...and thats all! :-)

After that:

- the "tiger-x86.tar" Image works fine on my Athlon64 3000+ machine

- i allocated 512MB RAM to the virtuell machine

- it seems that the "virtual" machine isn't really fast

Problems and questions:

- How to get the virtual machine to my network?

What is the correct network configuration?

- My sound doesn't work

- Where are the CD/DVD- ROM drives?

- What about your machine speed?

- Can someone tell some "basics" about Darwin "x86"?

What about "native" installation and results (machine speed i.e.)?

...we are on the right way

Regards

MICLINE :D

My experience with OSx run the way you describe is that it's unusable on my hardware, dual Opteron 246. Apps can fail to start, the beach ball spins pretty much constantly and the mouse tracking speed is inconsistent. I actually get far faster and smoother GUI response with PearPC.
