Just a detail: I do get also the "ACPI: Button driver prevents system sleep".

But it continues to boot normally.

However, on the LiveOSX DVD in DevLabs, testing withing vmware, it does wait a longer time after that message, and after "Still waiting for root device".

e.g. around 55 seconds stuck on a message just after "ACPI:...", and 6 more seconds after the "Still waiting..."

Have you tried waiting a few minutes? Maybe you did, but just checking.

I took the settings that Billy posted and tried to copy some of them into my vmware config file. I see that the uuid Billy posted is the same as the one I have in my config file. I assume it was set by vmware. However, I notice that the uuid in the waiting message on my system is different in content and format.

When I ran vmware and launched my OSX system I found that several of the config settings had been changed back to their original settings as generated by vmware. Specifically:

ide0:0.mode = "independent-persistent"
ide1:0.autodetect = "FALSE"

The ide0:0.mode remained the same but the autodetect was reset to TRUE. And:

uuid.location = "56 4d 7a 93 7b 3d ab 3c-14 a7 bf db 1a 88 be 86"
uuid.bios = "56 4d 7a 93 7b 3d ab 3c-14 a7 bf db 1a 88 be 86"

My values for both uuid.location & uuid.bios were set to match my waiting error message "7A9AB6DA-E7E1-3C7D-A0C3-333580D1ECAC" but when the test was completed, they again matched the ones Billy posted.

I have no idea if any of this matters or not :pirate2:
