Hey everyone,

I have a good stable Hackintosh for 1 week now.

Here's my hack:

CPU - Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7GHz 6-Core Processor

CPU Cooler - be quiet! - Dark Rock Pro 3

Motherboard - Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMING

Memory - G-Skillz 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2801

Storage - Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive

Video Card - Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11GB STRIX GAMING

Case - Thermaltake Core X71 Tempered Glass Edition ATX Full Tower Case

Power Supply - EVGA SuperNOVA P2 850W 80+ Platinum

Monitor - Dell P2715Q 27.0" + Dell SE2417HG 23.5"

What works:

  • Sleep/Wake
  • Bluetooth
  • Audio
  • Ethernet
  • iMessage
  • App Store
  • Itunes Video

What doesn't work or works weirdly:

  • Black display (when connect to GPU display port) when booting. wake up only just before the login.

It was the Dell P2715Q. This monitor have several troubles when it's time to use the display port.

Seems almost a common issue with that monitor though

For the black display until desktop loads, it sounds like you left the iGPU as primary in the BIOS. Just change that to the PCI-e GPU.

10.13 is a bit laggy with the current web drivers I think. You can disable hardware acceleration in Chrome and see if that helps, as well as disable OpenGL acceleration in PS. I think some have had success reducing lag by rolling back the nvidia driver to older versions.

As for the USB, there are plenty of guides (and it sounds like you are aware of them), so you just have to do it.

Here's my Bios Setting:

  • Primary Display: PCIE
  • IGPU Multi-Monitor: Enable
  • RC6: Enabled
  • DVMT Pre-Allocated: 192M

I've try without success:

  • Primary Display: PCIE
  • IGPU Multi-Monitor: Disable
  • RC6: Disable
  • DVMT Pre-Allocated: 192M

The only work around is to use the both HDMI output for my screens. But my P2715Q with HDMI does 30Hz. If I could make the display port working it will be at 60Hz.

Any idea?

You have two DP ports on your video card. Did you try both to see if that shows the boot screen? You might try Disabling CSM as well, if it is Enabled.

I've try both DP ports, and the screens are Black at booting. I've disable CSM as well.

I've seen in the CSM if it's Enable, something like Boot Pci-e with the option legacy or UEFI do you think it could work or it will do nothing? I'm a bit noob with hackintosh.

I’ve try the monitor settings without success again...

and dp ports don’t work but HDMI work i’ll leave it as it us for now. Hopefully someone will find out anytime soon!

I've finally find that is my brand new Monitor. The P2715Q is a troublemaker with displayport.

Here's what I found about that: P2715Q

I've decided to return this Monitor to replace it with LG one.

Thanks for your help, I'll not make this post resolve du to the other little trouble.
