Need some help with this one. I've got a 7900GT with Natit_auto on it. both monitors come up via DVI, except the mouse disappears when I scroll to one. I've got the following EDID data:

ioreg -l w 0 | grep "EDID"

What data do I need to take from this dump, and where exactly do I put it in Natit's propery list? Both monitors are running on DVI. Any/all help is appreciated.

Programs like mouse locater or ones used to correct mouse tearing

No, there's no mouse tearing. The mouse works fine on one screen and is just not visible at all on the second. It works, but it's invisible. A guy above had the same problem, but I don't quite understand what I'm supposed to do with the data that I get from ioreg.

What I did with the ioreg output was to modify the Natit plist with PlistEdit Pro (I think the dev pack somes with a plist editor too).

I found the EDID under nvida and I replaced these with the values.

So, in your case, set the first one to (SHOULD BE ONE LINE):

00f5054bfef808180714f010101010101010101010101302a009851002a4030701300520e1100

00ff0048344a584131313232390a2020002

Then set the second EDID to (SHOULD BE ONE LINE):

00f5054bfef808180714f010101010101010101010101302a009851002a4030701300520e1100

00ff0048344a584131313232390a2020002

I see the values look the same. Are the monitors you have an identical model?

If not and it doesn't work, try this one for one of the monitors:

00ffffffffffff0010ac09e04c543235060f0103ee2b1b78ea0195a3574c9c25125054a54b008

If you look closely at the four EDID values that Wallstreet posted, three are different - the first and third are the same, but the first, second and fourth are different. Would imply he has three different monitors. Or something else is going on.

I've got 2 monitors...a Dell 20" and a Dell 15". This is kinda messing with me.

Ok, extended desktop works perfectly from cold boot. Reboot and second display is upside down. Detect monitors doesn't work, both monitors black out. Haven't edited the Natit plist yet, not sure about the EDID numbers i'm getting from the ioreg dump. Both numbers are the same though i'm using differnt monitors.

I've tried this against both 10.4.7 and 10.4.8 with a Mobility X1600. Both times I got the same result. I end up with my monitor connected to my external port showing black and purple vertical stripes for a few seconds and then black screen, my laptop screen goes directly to black screen (I suspect it just can't display whatever mode it flips into for a few seconds) this occurs after the apple with the spinning logo has finished. Anybody have any ideas for me?

I've the same problem moreless, with same video card

using NeoPheus installer

I tried to install it manually, with various versions of Natit.kext (auto and modified) and various versions of ATI kexts (from neopheus 3.6 or from the originals from jas 10.4.8 dvd)

I experienced different results, but I never could boot the system (except in -s mode of course)

Does any one recognize this type of error? I get the screen, support, but

the screen looks like it is displaying for a monitor which is larger than mine....

10.4.8 JaS

NATIT with LVDS,EDID entry for my monitor

ATINDRV.kext 10.4.5 (10.4.8 would freeze)

FireGL 5200 (x1600 core) 0x71c4

Things work perfectly smothly, but just streched in a wierd manner.

Latest Semthex Kernel

T60p

How does one set the frequency?

I am so close to having full support.

Big thanks to the dev team.

I have basically tried every method possible to get Natit, Ati.inject, boris to install on my system but nothing seems to work at all. It will boot up fine but there is tons of distortion onscreen. When I boot up in -v I see that "display family specific" whatever that is always fails might this be my problem? I have a crt monitor but I have an adapter and am running it through the dvi port as the vga port was even worse. Any ideas? My system specs are in my signature.

Just reinstalled natit and took the ATINDRV.kext from my previous installation, booted up I don't have any distortion but I still don't have any choice in terms of resolution etc

ATI Radeon X1600 Series:

Chipset Model: ATI Radeon X1600 Series

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

VRAM (Total): 256 MB

Vendor: ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: 0x71c2

Revision ID: 0x0000

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1024 x 768

Depth: 32-bit Color

Core Image: Not Supported

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

Display:

I also noticed on the boot up that the device ID it loaded (looked like it loaded to me) was a different sequence that the profiler says.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and cheers for all the hard work!

If anyone wants to experiment with this plist, you are welcome to. Please report your findings. My theory would be that people with dual DVI shouldn't have problems since both ports are digital ... but I could be wrong.

I've tried your plist and i've got a strange result:

If I put in the plist the EDID of mine two monitors i get one monitor working (vga) and the other one with cloned images. And in System Profiler i get only one monitor connected, as usually.

If I leave your EDID, I get blurry images on the monitor connected to vga, while the other one goes sleep.

But checking in System Profiler, it shows two monitors connected.

I really can't understand this :D

Just reinstalled natit and took the ATINDRV.kext from my previous installation, booted up I don't have any distortion but I still don't have any choice in terms of resolution etc

ATI Radeon X1600 Series:

Add the device id of your card (0x71c21002) to ATIRadeonX1000.kext, if you haven't already done it.

VaSH, maybe your EDID is for an analog monitor (not digital DVI), and that's why you don't get dual. I explained earlier that if I put my CRTs (analog) EDID in the plist, on the LVDS port, I loose dual. But if I put the digital LCDs EDID there, I get dual.

Regarding your black screen, it is probably a timing/re/frequency issue. So just choose a different resolution for the balcked out monitor. And you will ask ... how do I do that if the Display Prefs window "appears" inside the blacked out monitor ...

Well, activate the menubar option in Display Preferences (Show in menubar checkbox), and you will be able to choose rez for both monitors from the main one, even if you can't see the other one. That's how you will get it all working ... I think.

Let me know.

BTW, the blurry is what I cannot fix, and you should read my previous posts/theories about it.
