fraz7 Posted November 19, 2017 Share Posted November 19, 2017 Hello - I joined Tony Mac X a while ago in an attempt to build a Hackintosh though I knew it would be tough. What made it tougher was it was my first PC build. Some of the Hackintosh build was successful in so far as the machine was working with the operating system on but there were problems with the machine crashing / cutting out / rebooting etc.... I believe this was something to so with power management - The PSU used was Coolermaster V1000, quite a good PSU but maybe not supported The CPU was i7 4790K and the motherboard was Asus Z97-AR - The integrated graphics did not work properly maybe because it was not supported. The LAN Intel I218V did work - So from the top of my head it was just the power management PSU that posed system stability problems. Please comment on the above - I learned a lot but would like to build a stable system, maybe with a different motherboard / PSU but I would like to discuss what options are available to make things work. I've heard of Clover but not used it yet - I'd be keen to know the most effective method to get a system running and which methods people perfer here at Insanely Mac. Maybe this community is more neutral than TonyMacX - ??? - (query) - I'm sure I can do better next time so would like to discuss all the pitfalls / problem solving. fraz7 Posted November 19, 2017 Author Share Posted November 19, 2017 OK Herve, thanks for the information and the links - Regarding the link you left above for Pike R Alpha's generator - There maybe a number of bits I need over time so I need to complile these but back to Pike R ! I read the pages where data can be input into terminal in OS X etc.....I've copied the information to archive it and downloaded the .zip file for future use with explanations etc....... From my limited time in OS X (on the 1st attempt) I've heard of terminal and know it's a little more involving but that is a start. Regarding the .zip I downloaded - this is on a windows machine, what use is this to me? - Can the data contained within (zipped or unzipped) be manually placed by me on a Hackintosh as and when required? - This is useful to know Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
