webby2017
I've just installed High Sierra as a new install under VMware Wkstn 12.5.7 and installed VM Tools but it's not mounting any USB HDDs that I plug in. USB flash drives are mounted OK. The USB HDD is recognised as a device (see External USB 3.0 in the attached screenshot) but Disk Utility doesn't see it. I've closed and re-opened DU a number of times. I've tried VMware Wkstn 14.0.0 and the latest VM tools but still doesn't mount. Has anyone had a similar issue or now what the problem may be? thanks Webby
rosgr100
same problem i'am looking for a solution too. Quote Recently I have installed VMware Workstation14 on an Asus GL702VM, featuring USB 3.0 ports. I7 CPU, 16GB RAM. Host OS: Windows 10 Home (x64) Guest OSes: High Sierra 10.13 External Driver: TOSHIBA HDWE150 SCSI Disk Device (X300 5TB) Case Swift Case Pro USB 3 Removable Device Shown Name in the Guest Asmedia USB Attache SCSI (UAS) Mass Storage Device Everything is running fine, but the the USB 3.0 drive won't mount in Guest MacOS although i've enabled USB 3.0 compatibility for the USB controller, The drive works fine on Host OS. So I am restricted to USB 2.0 mode if i use a USB 2.0 cable my Drive will mount on the Guest. The related drivers are: Intel USB 3.0 Root-Hub Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host controller Both are already installed on the Host OS, but the Guest OS rejects to Mount the driver Any idea what I am doing wrong? I know about the usb 2.0. The thing is that i want to use my drive in USB 3.0 mode.
