I have this exact card, I just installed in my MacPro 1 1.
https://www.amazon.c...70 gaming 100me

I'm running 10.11.6, and using WebDriver 346.03.15f09.
The card is installed in the 1st slot (bottom), and I have a 8600 GT in the one above it.

The GTX 970 shows up as "Nvidia Chip Model", and gives no output on any interface.

Surely there is some kext I can modify? Which one?

I fixed the problem. I traded a friend the MSI 970 with an EVGA 970 SC, and it worked flawlessly.
