Hello to all!

I have a problem with my CMI9880… nothing audio! :)

Someone can help me!?

Thanks to all!

p.s.

i'm using 10.4.7 kernel 8.4.1

We are still working on a Kext for CMI9880, but i will working only on 10.4.8 with latest kernel, we think.

you can try, (if it is ready!), but AT YOUR OWN RISK, Maybe you got Kernel Panics.

But we have not finishedyet, nor tested... please wait....

Ok right now,

I looked on this thread for a while...

I got my sound (ALC888) to work too, but only after some tweaking even with the installer.

So I decided to make another one. I hope its ok? If not just shout "STOP" :)

Installer will maybe up @ 19:00 (its 08:20 AM here)...

Yep, it should work with all 8.8.1 kernels!

This version ONLY works with 8.8.1 because the kexts are kernel dependent...

I'd modified two Info.plist from VIA's ID (PCI1106 DEV3288) to Intel ICH7 (PCI8086 DEV27D8), and update kexts cache, reboot

Now in system preferences, I can see the audio out and audio in, but the speaker still no sound, try use different six jack hole, but no lucky yet! :D

Do these kexts work with 10.4.8 with 8.4.1 kernel ?

we do not know, but we think not.....

maybe you get kernel panics, but you can try out for yourself...

but at your own risk...

see in the first post.... taruga said.... maybe kernel panics....

you have to edit the info.plist PathMap ID 9 too..

so the Node ID are matching with those, on your Linux Dump.

I tried the 882 kexts in 10.4.8 and the new 8.8.1 kernel and it worked great.

I then tried it with my older 10.4.8 with the older 8.4.1 kernel and it would panic or hang on boot.

I was playing around with this method on alc861 and found something interesting. I cant get any outputs to appear and i think it has something to do with this.

If i boot into OSX i have no audio if i then reboot and load XP i also have no audio. I then have to completely shutdown the laptop before booting into XP to get audio.

Im guessing its something to do with initialization of the sound hardware either in alcinject or in applehda itself.

PLEASE DO NOT POST REQUESTS HERE!!!

We are working one at a time as Rene204 said. Please be patient. We will get working what we have first because it is easier to test. When a kext is ready for beta testing it will be posted here. If you try a kext post your results here WITH INFO. Saying it doesn't work is not helpfull, post what motherboard, chipset, audio codec you are using and what works. Screenshots of your sound preference pane is helpfull. Also, if you want your codec supported and there is not a codec dump posted in this thread for your audio chip, there are instructions a couple pages back to make your own codec dump. Please note if you have a desktop board or laptop, it makes a difference. I'm still out of town but I'll be checking back here when I can get to the internet cafe. I'm currently working on Conexant HDA 0x14f15047 ICH7m on my HP dv1708nr laptop because that is all I have with me. If anyone can help develop please go to irc.macspeak.net #ALC88x that is where a lot of work gets done.
