which audio driver has the asus p5ld2-x/1333 motherboard?

i installed osx 10.5 in my pc!! pls help me ;)

The SOUND CARD coming with this model of Asus is ALC662 . I have the same myself,

it works with Azalia driver but only 2 channel output, no inputs, but it works perfectly with Taruga's 1.20 patcher and the codec dump I have uploaded for you.

Give it a try, only problem with patcher: No volume control sliders.

Not working... used the patcher with ALC883 (Onboard on HP Stock nForce AM2 Motherboard - See sig)

When I applied the patcher, it killed something in the MACH kernel since before I patched AppleHDA with the patcher, I can reboot/shutdown/sleep.

I re-installed Leopard and is now waiting for a solution for this problem.

So, a quick question.

I've read through this as much as possible, making sure I'm not posting a duplicate question, and I apologize if I missed something.

I've got an MSI P6N Diamond board. I am trying to figure out how to make my Creative SB X-Fi Extreme HD Audio work. I saw someone ask this earler (or similar) but they were brushed off and told that we were only talking about INTEGRATED audio... but this IS integrated on this board (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130080).

So. I am looking, essentially, for a codec dump of this board's integrated HD audio. Any help here?

is there a possibility of a patch to work with ubuntu linux? I'm newer than new to linux and this "no sound" issue is driving me up the wall.

I've sent you a private message regarding sound problems in Ubuntu.

My sound is now working: 2 spkr through line output in rear and headphones in front, all I can test.

Okay- Gateway GM5442:

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo E4400 Dual Core Processor, both cores working;

Chipset: Intel 945G chipset, obviously working;

-Onboard Video: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 - disabled;

Video Card: GeForce 7300 GT working, supported by install disc;

Integrated Audio: Sigmatel 9227 codec- working, see notes;

-Integrated Network: Intel 10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN - disabled;

Network Card: Dlink DGE-530T- working, see notes;

Bluetooth: Ambicom BT2Usb dongle, working, supported by install disc.

1. Installed Kalyway 10.5.1 with EFI:

1A. Formatted a 120GB partition with Fat32 and labelled it OSX for ease of identification, using gparted from inside Ubuntu;

1B. At beginning of OSX install, used Disk Utility to erase the OSX partition and replace with HFS+ (case sensitive);

1C. Choose appropriate drivers and allow install to finish;

1D. At end of install, rebooted into OSX computer without network or sound.

2. Network setup:

2A. Downloaded Kext Helper b7 to thumb drive in Ubuntu (attached below);

2B. Downloaded network card driver skge-e.kext (attached below);

2C. Installed network card driver skge-e.kext by dragging skge-e.kext file onto Kext Helper b7, and rebooted. Configured network card following reboot.

3. Sound setup:

3A. Downloaded AppleHDAPatcher_v1.16 from Taruga (attached below);

3B. Did own codec dump for sound card from Ubuntu Studio (attached below);

3C. Installed sound driver by dragging sigmatel9227.txt onto AppleHDAPatcher_v1.16, patiently watching, and rebooting when appropriate.

4. Post install:

4A. Created post outlining hardware specs including computer model for easy searching by other newbies;

4B. Donated to Taruga and Kalyway, as I'm able to do this only because of their hard work;

4C. Started saving for Apple retail copy of OSX in order to "get right." Mostly right.

I got this codec dump from a working Ubuntu installation. After Ubuntu

installation I had the same problem as on a Mac - I heard the sound only thru

headphones. But I found how to fix it - I've added this line to the ALSA driver

configuration (/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base):

options snd-hda-intel model=3stack

Now the speakers work perfectly! And when I plugged-in my headphones,

speakers are mute! So I dumped the codec entries from /proc/asound/card0/codec#0

(it is attached to this mail). And tihs codec file is much different from the

one I got before applying this options line, so it got to be working!

I tried it with AppleHDA.patcher 1.16, but there's no change, still I hear

the sound only via headphones:( I will try 1.17 later, but I'm not sure if it's

gonna work... Maybe the patcher does not set all the

parameters form the codec file correctly??

Please help me with that.

P.S. I got Dell Vostro 1400 laptop (Sigmatel 9228 audio codec)

Taruga's alive!!! (He hasn't given us an update in a month)

I think it might have some benefit waiting for 10.5.2 before you release the big 2.0 because I have had a look at the new audio kexts from the beta and some interesting results have came up possibly for easier detection processes as well.

Hi Taruga, here is the dump from ECS 945GCT-M/1333. Nothing comes out from any inputs if we use just the patcher. But if we copy over a different AppleHDA.kext from someone else that used your patcher on a different board, it looks like it gives us audio output from the Mic input. Any ideas?

Here's where we get our AppleHDA.kext from:

Those of you that tested HDAudio.kext (for codec detection) available here please, test it again with version 6 of the kext. I need to make sure if it detects codecs at address <> 0 . Thanks for your help

hi,

Ive been playing with Leopard 10.5.1 for a few weeks now and its pretty sweet. I have a badaxe2 board and everything seems to work perfectly except the sound. I have followed alot of thie posts on the baord and tried using the applehda patcher V1.20 with some different posted codec dumps and none worked. i have also used my ubuntu cd to make my own dump and still the sound does not work. i will attach a copy of the codec dump i made and the text fromt he hda patcher in hopes that someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks.
