dev56
So I've created a bootable .iso file from the "Install macOS High Sierra.app" downloaded from the Apple Store and successfully created a virtual machine in VMWare Player on my Windows PC. I loaded the .iso file to the virtual cd drive and it boots okay but I'm having trouble getting the installer/disk utility to recognize an internal hard drive that I can format/install macOS to. All I see in disk utility is: I've searched for hours on Google and all the tutorials for loading macOS in VMWare on Windows use a prepped. vmdk file like the one below where macOS is already installed: https://techsviewer.com/install-macos-high-sierra-vmware-windows/ What am i missing here? snifferdog
Did you give your VM any storage? You can create a new virtual hard disk in Settings -> Storage.

jasonsansone
I notice you are using Workstation 12. Have you tried with Workstation 14?
dev56
I notice you are using Workstation 12. Have you tried with Workstation 14? First I had to go to View -> Show All Devices in Disk Utility to get the VMWare disk to show up. Then I could format the disk and install High Sierra successfully but after installation the VM wouldn't boot anymore. At that point, upgrading to VMWare Player 14 and Unlocker 210 fixed it and I was able to successfully boot into High Sierra Thanks!
