Sierra 10.12.6 on ASUS X99 Deluxe: need help/advice for optimization

Hi guys,

It’s almost 3 months that I’m running Sierra 10.12.6 on my hack. I have an ASUS X99 Deluxe, a 5930K and a GTX780. I have some questions/problem to solve and I would really appreciate some guidance:

 

1) I’m experiencing a file system corruption at least one in a month. Whenever my system hangs and I have to force the reboot via physical button, it can’t restart and Disk Utility fails to repair the disk. I have to re-format the drive and use my CCC backup to get it running again. It’s very frustrating. I was using the VboxHFS driver and I’ve just switched to HFSPlus. Don’t know if someone has experienced something similar and has a solution.

 

2) For the sake of optimization, is there something in my settings that I’m doing wrong? Am I missing some driver or kext which is important or using something redundant or obsolete? I would like to have your advice here, ’cause I really don’t have all the knowledge to understand it by myself. I’ve managed to install Sierra and the system looks fine (except for the above problem).

 

3) DSDT!!! What a nightmare for a novice (it’s almost 3 years that I have an hackintosh and still I’m trying to learn)! Is it mandatory to have a custom DSDT? It’s related most of all to the speedsteps “stuff” or is it relevant also for other important functions of the system?

 

Hope someone could answer at least one of these questions
