alexg_uk
for my T43, look at my sig.... its all written there clearly... Hey, glad you have your t43 working as well as you do. You'll have to forgive my newbieness, I know this is very much a diy effort, but can you please give me some pointers as to where I will find documentation about the hack needed to get the Broadcom NIC working. I would really like to get some sort of network connectivity working on my t43 (and the sleep thing but thats another day away). I am running a JaS 10.4.6 install by the way. Works (10.4.7 anyway) on T60 with GMA950 Intel Core Duo, wireless doesn't work because of Intel Centrino wireless, lenovo sells a replacement mini PCI Express based on Atheros chip.. merccat
Just recently got my T42 going... lots of good info in the WIKI and there is a thread here where I had a spot of trouble getting the video to work out of the box. I've got my intel wireless limping along barely but it's really not usable for any practical purposes. I plan on trying out an Athenos based PCI card soon. PC goes to sleep just fine... it's waking the darn thing back up that's the problem... make sure you disable sleep mode in all of your power profiles. Also... if your CPU goes into low power mode for whatever reason (power outage or just running on battery period) the CPU gets stuck in low power mode until such time as you reboot. Can you give me some tips of how you did that? my email is duckno2@hotmail.comthank you heaps~ Hi Nivekeel, I got the 10.4.4 'IOPCIFamily.kext' as mentioned in this post - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=10120. I am guessing you followed the same routine. When I restart the machine, the boot hangs forever. So, I started Mac in the safe mode, ran the kextcache commands as mentioned in that post but this time when I restarted the machine, it give me an error saying I need to power off my machine..I was lucky to backup the IOPCIFamily.kext earlier - so I replaced the faulty one with the original one and the machine is back to stable now. But how can I get the PCI card to be recognized successfully ? Thanks, Sonu

rschultz101
broadcom gigabit problems http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=4987 still have not got it to work,... for 10.4.9 r3, runs on single core, for v1.4i v3 , did get it to work with both cores, but had to trash the speedstep, and set FSB=166, but the install got hosed, trying to fix the ethernet, and now I don't remember, what options I used, with the new install v1.4i , dual core did not work. for the screen dimming, shades , works great and the boot problem, that I had to use cd, fixed by formating in windoze, 8gb fat32 first partition, so I could possible use a bootloader. seems like, erasing a partition for reinstall causes problems too. wish there be more activity on this thread, eather, everybody is happy, or not using thinkpad/lenovo at all ?!?! last thing, to figure out, some sort of fan control ,.... speakers are also meager. fjevel
Tried different releases on several machines here and so far the best fit was the ToH RC2 which runs very nice on a Lenovo 3000 N100, and from which I am posting this. But for my four Thinkpads, it´s a no go at the moment. My T61 won´t even boot. Right after bootloader it gives a kernel panic and that´s that. The old T41 boots to the point where it would enter graphic mode and then nothing. All black screen. Later this week I will try an old X40 and a brand new X60 tablet as well -KJ
