Hi, the T series of Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad works are:

-T40 : Ati7500 (with patch) QE/Q2DE, Audio OK, Lan OK, PCCARD BUS OK excepts for IRDA and sleep

-T42: like as T40

-R52: partially works, the system don't boot on onboard display, but with external monitor yes, after installation boot the system with -s parameters and delete IOPCCARD extensions, because the pc card bus couldn't be recognize and system won't boot, see on this forum to fix a bug of gma 900

for my T43, look at my sig.... its all written there clearly...

Hey,

glad you have your t43 working as well as you do. You'll have to forgive my newbieness, I know this is very much a diy effort, but can you please give me some pointers as to where I will find documentation about the hack needed to get the Broadcom NIC working. I would really like to get some sort of network connectivity working on my t43 (and the sleep thing but thats another day away). I am running a JaS 10.4.6 install by the way.

Thanks

Got almost everything working on IBM Thinkpad T41 !!!!! OSX 10.4.8

Everything except "Sleep Mode"Now waiting for Patch for SSE2 of 10.4.9 or 10.4.10 or even 10.5!!

Graphics ATI 7500 with QE support and OpenGL,

USB 2.0,

USB Webcam

USB Wireless

Track Pad and Track Point,

PCMCIA (all you need to do is replace the IOPCIFamily.kext with the 10.4.4 or earlier's IOPCIFamily.kext. Not the IOPCCardFamily.kext)

If anyone know how to deal with sleep mode, please email me "duckno2@hotmail.com" or if you need any help, can also email me ^^

Thank you all!!~~

Just wanted to chime in that im using a T40 and IR doesnt work nor does sleep. Other than that, its perfect. On a side note, has anyone updated their T40 to 10.4.10? What updater/packages did you use?

Hi, Karmatose~ I had trouble update to 10.4.9. Can you give me some tips of how you did that? my email is duckno2@hotmail.comthank you heaps~

Just recently got my T42 going... lots of good info in the WIKI and there is a thread here where I had a spot of trouble getting the video to work out of the box.

I've got my intel wireless limping along barely but it's really not usable for any practical purposes. I plan on trying out an Athenos based PCI card soon.

PC goes to sleep just fine... it's waking the darn thing back up that's the problem... make sure you disable sleep mode in all of your power profiles.

Also... if your CPU goes into low power mode for whatever reason (power outage or just running on battery period) the CPU gets stuck in low power mode until such time as you reboot.

Hi Nivekeel,

I got the 10.4.4 'IOPCIFamily.kext' as mentioned in this post - http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=10120. I am guessing you followed the same routine. When I restart the machine, the boot hangs forever. So, I started Mac in the safe mode, ran the kextcache commands as mentioned in that post but this time when I restarted the machine, it give me an error saying I need to power off my machine..I was lucky to backup the IOPCIFamily.kext earlier - so I replaced the faulty one with the original one and the machine is back to stable now. But how can I get the PCI card to be recognized successfully ?

Thanks,

Sonu

Running 10.4.8 on T60 (Model 1951-BT4) via USB as I type. Wireless, Audio, PCMCIA not working... as per my initial inspection.

For now... just want my audio working. When i checked on System Profiler, it says Audio (Built In) - Intel High Definition Audio. Have not found any forum with this info so far.

broadcom gigabit problems

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=4987

still have not got it to work,...

for 10.4.9 r3, runs on single core,

for v1.4i v3 , did get it to work with both cores,

but had to trash the speedstep, and set FSB=166,

but the install got hosed, trying to fix the ethernet,

and now I don't remember, what options I used,

with the new install v1.4i , dual core did not work.

for the screen dimming, shades , works great

and the boot problem, that I had to use cd,

fixed by formating in windoze,

8gb fat32 first partition, so I could possible use a bootloader.

seems like, erasing a partition for reinstall causes problems too.

wish there be more activity on this thread, eather, everybody is happy, or not using thinkpad/lenovo at all ?!?!

last thing, to figure out, some sort of fan control ,.... speakers are also meager.

Tried different releases on several machines here and so far the best fit was the ToH RC2 which runs very nice on a Lenovo 3000 N100, and from which I am posting this.

But for my four Thinkpads, it´s a no go at the moment.

My T61 won´t even boot. Right after bootloader it gives a kernel panic and that´s that. The old T41 boots to the point where it would enter graphic mode and then nothing. All black screen.

Later this week I will try an old X40 and a brand new X60 tablet as well :(

time to test Leopard with EFI patch,....

please post your results !!

what's promising,... with EFI, that sleep and throttle work,...

and with the new X3100 the graphics ,....

for me, I'll wait till the ioatkas uphuck is released

if the new Imac's had upgradeable graphics cards,

it would make a switch so much easier,.....
