Admins/Mods if this is in the wrong spot please feel free to move it.

I have a hackintosh I have been working on, has issues with the DSDT and usb ports... got a Apple BCM943602CS and adapter for it and hand-off doesn't work.

While investigating this issue and hoping to find a fix for my woes there I thought to myself would I be able to use this card in my mid 2010 iMac?

So in short what adapter would I need to use the card in my iMac should I

a) fail to get my hack 100%

B) decide to buy another and upgrade the wireless

I have seen adapters for PCI-E 1x that fit the Apple card, but what about Apple to Apple??

From what I have found here https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Apple_AR5BXB92it is Mini PCI-E, so was wondering if anyone has tried this yet.

Afaik, there is no adapter for mini-PCIe to Apple's own slot that fits those BCM94360CD or similar.

With regards to your own BCM943602CS, hand-off will only work if you have wifi + BT working. That needs USB to work of course since BT connects via USB. If you Hackintosh is a laptop, that means that card MUST be inserted in a combo mini-PCIe/USB slot such as a WWAN one.

Thanks, guess I will keep poking around google and see if anything pops up, of course knowing the exact slot type apple uses in an iMac from that era would help narrow it down.

I am working on a similar build to one I posted about over at osxlatitude, same chipset p55, but having usb issues and this idea sprang into my mind.

I would imagine this would work, but can't be certain... the pin count matches and the adapter looks exactly right, i will keep looking.

ordered this adapter

and another wireless adapter

not sure if the bluetooth will work or not, but the adapter is meant to do both, so for science and what not...

looks like this has been done before, so i think i will be ok lol

So far it seems to be working great, may have a slight clearance issue with the lcd and haven't received my antenna jumpers yet. (antenna jumpers convert from one size to another)

While I had it open I fully disassembled, cleaned, replaced 7 year old thermal paste on GPU and CPU (of course ->) swapped the i3-540 out for a i5-650 I had in another machine, have a i5-750 in another i could have used... thought maybe since they were both clarkdale it would be a easier swap and I don't know if the Intel HD Graphics are even being used so just kept it with a minor upgrade and Turbo (if it works lol), macos recognized it ok so all good here.

Fairly excited to see how this old mac performs with the higher clock speeds and turbo, so far it seems a bit more snappy, oh I almost forgot... I had parts laying around so I dumped the disc drive and popped in a SATA3G drive from my hackintosh that wasn't being used anymore, OCZ Vertex 2... so before and after speeds should be interesting. :D

Only a couple things left to do before I close it up completely, install antenna jumpers, figure out the bluetooth plug to adapter and check clearance, then enjoy my little modded mac.
