Optical Drive not recognized

I know the device Id of my DVD writer.

1) SMBios? I'm using MBP 11,1 which does not come with a optical drive. Should I use another which might be less "matching" but comes with one?

2) config.plist patch? If so which?

3) Am I missing some kext?

4) Do I need DSDT patch?

5) Some combination of the above.

Can someone provide guidance on diagnosing / fixing?

Laptop is Latitude E5440 running 10.12.6

Thanks in advance for your time and help

So I also thought it was injector kext issue. However, my problem is a bit different. Normally when DVD player has initialization error accessing drive, using injector kext has worked for me.

This time however, DVD player does not complain at all. The menubar eject applet says "No Drive”. System Report says No DVD drive found. Now DPCI Manager says "Error unknown device" for what I know is my DVD Drive. Device Ids for my DVD drive are 8086:9c03

Regardless I did try with Injector kext from your 6440 pack in kexts/Other folder and it didn’t make any difference. Then I tried in /L/E. Again no difference.

Anything else I can try?

Okay. I fixed my problem mostly. After googling for couple of hours I found a post that told me to uncheck sata-0 in BIOS, boot into OS X, then go back and enable sata-0 (which is my DVD drive of course). And now I can see my DVD drive under sata/sata-express under my hard drive.

When I put CD it mounts it on desktop and I can right click and eject.

The one minor issue is the eject applet on menu bar still says "No drive". Maybe some thing simple. I will update post with files you asked ASAP.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. All my sata were enabled. I had to toggle sata-0 which is my DVD off and boot, then reboot, turn it on for it to work. For some reason the drive not registering with OSX before.

I am searching for any material on fixing my eject button on menu bar now, which still does not see the drive.

UPDATED: ACPI and IOReg. EFI folder zip too large to upload. Also have Sys Profiler output.

PS - When I ran the command I got these errors, in case that's relevant
