Hi all,

After much tests and modifications and help from many, I got to install Sierra (10.12.5) on my Tecra Z40. So this post is just to give back to the community, in case someone with this kind of laptop wants to hack it.

Here are the specs of this PC:

CPU Intel i5-6200U

RAM 16GB

Intel Ethernet (and wifi)

Graphics: Intel HD520 (touchscreen)

trackpad: ALPS (v7)

Disk: 256G SSD.

Use any guide you can find here to create the USB and do the Installation, then, once you installed Clover on the target disk, you can copy the attached EFI parts there. After that, you'll need to install the different kexts listed below.

All works, even the touchscreen, except the wifi card. I used a USB dongle from edimax, works very well, but no bluetooth (I don't need it). You can surely replace the internal wifi card with a  BRCM one.

Attached is the Clover modified parts (in /EFI that is), plus the list of kexts I published into /L/E. I used Clover 4077.

Very probably, this config can be enhanced by someone who's got time and know-how to do it, but, I'm good enough with what I have now.

The list of Kexts (taken from Rehabman's different repositories, as well as Dr Hurt's VoodooPS2Controller):

ACPIBatteryManager.kext

ACPIPoller.kext

AppleBacklightInjector.kext

AppleHDA.kext

HDAEnabler13.kext

IntelGraphicsFixup.kext

IntelMausiEthernet.kext

Lilu.kext

VoodooPS2Controller.kext (search here for ALPS v7 kext and you'll find the latest one).
